The best Drama movies on Netflix
American Psycho (2000)
Few films have been dissected and analyzed regularly American Psycho, 2000 horror drama from director Mary Harron. Harron also wrote the screenplay, based on the 1991 novel of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis. Just like a book, American Psycho is a scathing takedown of the abusive and inhumane nature of Wall Street's high-flying traders, with Christian Bale playing the embodiment of all their worst aspects in his now iconic character, Patrick Bateman.
However, despite its arrangement, American Psycho it's not like movies like me Boiler room or The Wolf of Wall Street. The focus of Harron's thriller isn't financial dealings but, instead, a distinct disconnect that runs through all the characters — one so powerful that protagonist/antagonist Patrick Bateman resorts to serial killing just to feel an emotional episode. Unsurprisingly dark and violent throughout, few movies currently available on Netflix are likely to stick with subscribers after one viewing like it. American Psycho.
Black Water (2019)

However, things go awry when none of their tech equipment works, and father and daughter arrive at the vacation home they claim to be staying at.

Dog Power (2021)
The 2020s have seen a cultural shift as society examines traditional values alongside new ones, especially within the arts, and the genre of Western movies is different. All Quiet on the Western Front (2022)
Deservedly nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars, Netflix's 2022 adaptation of Erich Maria Remarque's classic novel All Quiet on the Western Front it is a remarkable, intense meditation on the reality of war. Telling the story of World War I from a German point of view – usually not the side of cinema that illuminates – it is the first adaptation to be told in authentic German.
It's an important film, showing the harrowing experience of young soldiers thrown into the battlefield, but it's also very entertaining because of its central performances. Although the military genre may have the potential to limit the interest of many audiences, All Quiet on the Western Front it is true a must see for Netflix subscribers.
May December (2023)
Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore are two of the most respected actresses today, and the Oscar winners share in the May Decemberdirected by Todd Haynes. After 23 years, Gracie and Joe (Charles Melton) are married, and Elizabeth travels to Georgia to meet them and prepare for her role.
While Portman and Moore are unsurprisingly as stellar as their characters, Melton steals the show. I Riverdale The actor has been picking up awards for a while, with Melton won the Gotham Independent Film Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor. This three-hander's taut movie is thought-provoking and uncomfortable, raising serious questions about age differences in romantic relationships. But with such a difficult matter, May December and has moments of humor and caution.

You're Not Really Invited to My Bat Mitzvah (2023)
Adam Sandler often does more in the box when he is surrounded by those who are closest to him in real life (whether the critical reception of those movies is the same or not). On Netflix Original So You Are Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah he goes one step further, starring his wife and daughters, with Sunny Sandler taking the lead role. In fact, this is not his film at all, although he does a solid job.
Culturally knowledgeable and empathetic, So You Were Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah a clever picture of a historic festival, finding humor and loveliness in its authenticity, but also in the whole world of teenage life. Sadly, it understands us and never talks about the nature of puberty, and the younger Sandler is the pick. You're Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah throw – a rising star who clearly learned a lot from his fellow dad's better jokes.
