Pachinko season 2, episode 4, picks up where the third installment left off. In the World War II era timeline, Sunja (Minha Kim) and her sons, Noah (Kim Kang-hoon) and Mozasu (Eunseong Kwon), begin to settle into rural life, which is very different from their country. Pachinko season 2, episode 1. Even in the rice fields, war memorials – and the threat of bombing – looms large in the background. Although Mozasu seems to like his life in this country, he spends his time beating weapons and telling Mr. Kim (Kim Sungkyu) about the war.
While the second episode in the second go revealed the fate of PachinkoIsak (Steve Sang-Hyun Noh), Sunja's late husband and Mozasu's biological father, episode four shows that nowhere is safe or stable. Notably, Hansu (Lee Min-ho) was the one who promised Sunja and others PachinkoThe characters could be better in the countryside, though Hansu's apparent bravery begins to crumble. Currently, in PachinkoIn the 1980s timeline, Solomon (Jin Ha) wanders through an unexpected visit from elder Sunja (Youn Yuh-jung), a date with Naomi (Shogunof Anna Sawai), and the direct wisdom of her grandmother.

Sunja Reunited With Her Mother
Sunja's mother blames Hansu, Noa's father
In one of the most emotional moments of episode 4, Sunja is reunited with her mother, Yangjin (Jeong In-ji), after years spent apart. Although Sunja and her mother did not always see eye to eye, it is clear that there is a lot of love between them, and the miles and time spent apart, especially during the war, cause them both to fall apart when they are finally together. again. The reunion takes place in the rice fields, with Hansu driving Yangjin to his daughter's new home. Again and again, Hansu did the impossible to please Sunjaalthough he could not save Isak's life.
…Yangjin not only reminds her daughter to take it easy with Hansu, but she correctly guesses that the rich savior of the family is Noah's stepfather.
At the dinner table, Yangjin gets to know her grandchildren and tells them stories of her life. As food is being served, Hansu interrupts the gathering, asking if he can join them. Although he does not want to eat anything, Hansu wants to spend time with Sunja and Noa. This connection, along with the fact that Sunja wanders in the middle of the night, sparks an idea in Yangjin's mind. When Sunja returns home, Yangjin not only reminds her daughter to take it easy with Hansu, but correctly guesses that the rich savior of the family is Noah's real father.

Sunja Visits Solomon Because of a Dream
In another timeline, Sunja decides to visit Solomon after her grandson refuses to return her calls. Although he is surprised to see Sunja, Solomon welcomes her into his unclean house. Sunja explains that she dreamed about him and, although he does not remember all the details, it was this experience that compelled him to visit. However, Sunja is not the only person who enters Solomon. After their first date in episode 3, Naomi, Solomon's former employee, agrees to go out again. Their plans change because of Sunja, who offers to make home-cooked meals.
While Solomon answers the phone, Naomi helps Sunja in the kitchen, which gives the two women a chance to bond. Naomi explains that she had a hard time growing up with a father and a mother who were always away and who did everything she could. for the family. In particular, Naomi remembers her mother's wonderful cooking. These are all revelations that Sunja can relate to very well. Sunja shares that cooking, for a long time, was how she supported her family. Although the world has changed dramatically, Sunja finds echoes of her past in Naomi's stories.

Solomon's Grandmother Gives Important Advice
During her conversation with Naomi in the kitchen, Sunja discovers that one of the things that attracted this lady to her granddaughter was her ability to stand up for what she believes in. Naomi says she feels “strengthWhen Solomon started helping Han Geum-ja resist the deal it would have taken his country. Of course, it's also revealed to Sunja that Han Geum-ja had a supposed change of heart, which means the Schiffleys will be getting the property. Although Sunja no longer asks anything in front of Naomi, it is clear that she wants to tell Solomon something.
After dinner, Solomon takes Sunja to his residence, where Sunja asks his grandson more about the deal. Solomon insists that Han Geum-ja will get more money from the sale – and, most importantly, that he came to the decision himself. Although viewers know for sure that Solomon is lying, Sunja seems to be able to sense it. He warns his grandson not to get in over his head in any plan he cooks. “Never forget who you are,Sunja tells her, just like her mother told her all those years ago in the rice fields.

Hansu and Sunja Share an Intimate Moment
Sunja Refuses to Pursue a Romantic Relationship
In the past, Sunja decides to visit after dinner. While walking down the street, he runs into Hansu, who is still driving around. When Sunja asks what he is doing, Hansu says he is avoiding it, but reveals that he is looking for Formani. While Hansu is flirtatious, Sunja seems less certain. He also thanks her for bringing his mother home, which Hansu dismisses as “nothing.“ Sunja repeats that it's a big deal – that everything Hansu has done is beyond the norm. Hansu then insists that Sunja try to drive his car; after hesitation, he commits.
Sunja's attempts at driving cause the two to veer off the road into a muddy area in the surrounding fields. Together, Sunja and Hansu free the car from the mud. While resting in the car, the two lean in for a kiss – but a noise pulls them apart. Hansu assures Sunja that she has nothing to worry about, but realizes that reconnecting with Hansu is a slippery slope. Although her husband is gone, Sunja's heart still belongs to Isak. He is upset, Hansu exclaims, “Everything I do is for you,“But Sunja, not wanting to bend down, walks quickly.

Noah is out watching the Foxes
After Sunja left, Noah sneaks out of the house with his newfound friend to see a truly unbelievable sight: a field full of fireflies. Since moving, Noah has had a harder time than his younger brother, although his life in the city was not pleasant. Noah tries to fit in and feel whole, especially after Isak's death. Hansu's frequent appearances don't help. Although it would be nice to share a dinner table with a rich stranger, Noah sees a much darker side to his biological father later on.
…it seems that (Sunja's) refusal to pursue a relationship has revealed Hansu's deep anger.
Hiding in the bramble, Noah watches as Hansu threatens the Foreman of the rice field. The interaction suggests that Foreman is doing something behind Hansu's back, but the details of the plan remain murky. Hansu then threw the chief to the ground and beat him to the ground. Just as he snaps out of his blind rage, Hansu sees Noah fleeing the scene. Although Hansu had been looking for Foreman before he got involved with Sunja, it seems that his refusal to pursue a relationship has exposed Hansu's deep anger.
When talking to Sunja, Hansu revealed that he is not only doing all this kindness for her, but for Noah as well. Although he has been aloof and helpful for so many years, Hansu grows closer to Sunja's family. Joining the dinner table was, perhaps, Hansu's bravest move, although the invitation could be seen as a favor to Sunja's mother. However, Pachinko season 2, episode 4 reveals that Hansu sacrifices himself as he appears. Instead, it seems that Hansu believes that Sunja owes him her love, and life, for everything he has done.

Rice Shed Burned Out Pachinko Season 2, Episode 4 Ending
Tragedy Brings Mr. Kim & Kyunghee
At the end of the Pachinko The fourth episode of season 2, the rice shed is on fire. It's a sad time for Sunja, Mr. Kim, and Kyunghee (Jung Eun-chae), Sunja's sister. Earlier in the episode, the Foreman was scolding Kyunghee for her seemingly inadequate work, though he stopped when Mr. Kim, Hansu's right-hand man, appeared. Mr. Kim tried to comfort Kyunghee, but she was reluctant to accept his kindness. Facing great sorrow and change, Kyunghee throws herself into her work in the rice fieldsthat is why the loss of the rice shed hits him hard.
…Kyunghee falls into the arms of Mr. Kim and they kiss.
Although Sunja, Kyunghee, Mr. Kim, along with all the family members rushed to the scene, the shed is full of flames. All their hard work disappears in a matter of minutes. The next day, Sunja and Mr. Kim cleans up the burnt debris, but seeing this makes Kyunghee run away. Mr. Kim follows him into the surrounding forest. At first, Kyunghee is upset that he followed her. Although Mr. Kim has been open about his feelings, Kyunghee has been hesitant. In the end, Kyunghee falls into the arms of Mr. Kim and they kiss.
PachinkoThe fourth episode does not reveal the identity of the person who burned the rice shed, but there are many possible culprits. Although it would not be a wise business decision, Hansu could destroy the rice shed in his anger and as a way to get back at Sunja by denying his advances. The chief who was beaten by Hansu also has a strong intention. In the end, Noah, angered by what he saw Hansu doing to the chief, would light a fire, perhaps hoping that his family would leave the rice fields—and Hansu—behind.
