Why Jeri Ryan Says Seven Out of Nine Are Not Sexual in Star Trek: Voyager
Seven out of nine can be sexy without having sex
Opened Late Night with Conan O'BrienConan says Seven of Nine is “one of the sexiest characters I've ever seen on television”, but Jeri Ryan explains the character of Seven of Nine was not sexual in nature. Since Seven of the Nine's body and mind were healed from his entire life as a Borg airship, Seven remained connected to human emotions. Any concept of gender that was seven out of nine was purely academic as Seven still considered himself more of a Borg than a human. The fact that Seven of Nine was likable just happened to make Seven incredibly interesting. Star Trek letter.
Jeri Ryan: “Seven out of nine is not a sexual character at all.”
Conan O'Brien: “(He's) the Borg … And that means there are no feelings?”
Jeri Ryan: “It means he's part cybernetic, and part human. He has feelings, but he's not comfortable expressing them.”
Seven of Nine's skin-tightening outfits prove it Jeri Ryan's addition to the Star Trek: Voyager the cast was a clear attempt to draw young men that Voyager were lacking compared to before Star Trek exhibitions. Star Trek: Voyager By design, it was a smart, female-driven show led by Kate Mulgrew's Captain Kathryn Janeway. That hard-earned reputation could have been undermined by Seven of Nine becoming the sexist character it appears to be. Instead, Seven of Nine was great again intelligent, and Seven's journey to find his identity was one of them Star Trek's best character arcs.
Reason 7 for Nine's Skintight Borg Uniform Explained
Jeri Ryan Explains Seven Of The Nine “Borg Catsuits” That Are “Medicinal”.
Of Late Night with Conan O'Brien clip, Conan asks Jeri Ryan if anything “sci-fi reason” with seven of the nine strong body-clothes. Ryan explains that Seven of the nine dresses are a “medical” a healing agent that regenerates Seven's human skin. After Seven of Nine was removed from the Borg Collective, Seven's human physiology began to harden itself, and rejected the Borg transplant. To remedy this, the Doctor (Robert Picardo) removed most of Seven's cybernetic parts and designed a seven-of-nine silver catsuit to act as a full-body bandage, with a corset that mimicked Seven's Borg exoskeleton.
Seven out of nine “treatment” the silver catsuit was tight and difficult for Jeri Ryan to fit into, so Seven's costume was quietly changed to a brown bodysuit after the first few episodes Star Trek: Voyager season 4. There was no explanation for the change, but it's possible that the Doctor's original silver suit successfully healed Seven of the Nine's worst injuries. Jeri Ryan says the Seven of Nine uniform is a two-tone blue “fashion choice”, therefore Seven is very conscious of its appearance Star Trek: Voyager continues, but that doesn't change Seven's attitude towards sex, and Ryan remains right to say that Seven of Nine is not a sexual character.
