Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Aliens vs Avengers #1! I Hulk he is one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe, and has reduced the shortage of cosmically powerful entities. From the Hulk defeating monsters under the control of the Mother of Horrors, to even Loki himself, the Hulk is no stranger to fighting the most brutal foes, even if they are out of this world. However, it has recently become clear that there is one enemy of the world that even the Hulk can defeat: AlienThe Xenomorphs.
In Aliens vs Avengers #1 by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribić, four ships full of Xenomorph specimens are sent to Earth (one of the many planets these ships have been sent to) by two monstrous synthetics looking to expand the Xenomorphs' reach across the universe. Within a year, the Xenomorphs in those spaceships completely overran the planet, all except for one major city fortress where the Avengers came up with a plan to defeat them – including the new leader of the Avengers, the Hulk.
During an Avengers mission, Valeria Richards sneaks into a Xenomorph lair to steal an Ovomorph to test the Facehugger egg in hopes of developing a Xenomorph-killing virus. However, Valeria is impregnated by a Facehugger before she can hatch with an egg, and before long, she is killed by a Chestburster before quickly maturing into a full-grown Xenomorph. Fortunately, the Hulk kills the Xenomorph before it can do any more damage behind the city walls, although the Hulk is injured by one of the 'Xenomorphs' weapons: acid blood.
The Xenomorphs' Acid Blood Can Hurt the Hulk
The Hulk Couldn't Defeat a Crowd of Xenomorphs
While the Xenomorphs are professional killers when hunting alone, the real killer factor comes from their numbers. Xenomorphs create huge nests when introduced to a new planet, and the fact that they are so hard to kill makes procuring hosts an easy task. As shown in Aliens vs Avengersthe Xenomorphs can conquer the world very quickly, and that's when the aliens will deserve the attention of the Hulk.
If the Hulk tried to fight the Xenomorphs with their superpowers (ie, after conquering the planet), he wouldn't be able to defeat them. Hulk could smash them to pieces easily enough, and if he wasn't affected by their acidic blood then he could completely destroy the planet's population of Xenos. However, if he can't be hurt by a small spray from a single Xenomorph, there's no way he can withstand the ocean of acid blood that would be spilled when fighting the Xenomorphs at their full strength.
Hulk's Weakness to Xenomorph Blood May Explain His Aliens vs Avengers Character
In Aliens vs AvengersBruce Banner is an old and broken man. Defeated by the horrors of his world, he was mentally destroyed by watching everyone he ever cared about die a painful death at the hands of the Xenomorphs. However, it's surprising that the Hulk wouldn't have killed all the Xenos in the world before now, especially after the deaths of so many of his friends. But, since this issue also shows that the acid blood of the aliens harms him, he may have tried, and – as it is thought – he could not defeat the planet-wide horde of Xenomorphs.
Although the Hulk may be able to recover from being destroyed by the Xenomorphs (mostly, their acidic blood), it is clear in this crossover event that he will not be able to defeat them, as HulkThe new weakness reveals one enemy that even he can't defeat: AlienThe Xenomorphs.
