By to poison the Goblin Camp, Baldur's Gate 3 players can make one of the toughest battles in Act One a lot easier. The goblins set up camp in the Shattered Sanctum, using it as a base to threaten the Sword Coast in the name of the Absolute. Poisoning their drinks reduces the Goblin Camp's numbers, allowing you to turn the odds in your party's favor.
Unless you end up playing bad Baldur's Gate 3destroying the Goblin Camp is the best decision, and there are many different ways to do this. A brute force frontal attack is just one possible option. However, there are ways to sneak or talk your way into the camp, using skills like Persuasion, deception, or intimidation, launching a surprise attack.
Goblin Party Location at Baldur's Gate 3
You can find it almost opposite Emerald Grove
Before attempting to eliminate the enemies, you will first need to locate the Goblin Camp in the game. The game should go there naturallybut there are distractions along the way that can slow you down, especially if you stop to explore the rest of the game's terrain. The Goblin Camp is an area only accessible in Act 1 of Baldur's Gate 3which means you can't go through the Underdark if you wish to access it.
The Goblin Camp is located in the far western part of the desert map in Act 1. The best way to get to it is to use the Emerald Grove as your starting point. From the entrance of Emerald Grove, you will need to take the path to the west. When you cross the bridge, you will begin to see the first signs of goblin civilization, as you will have reached the Blighted village. Here, there are several goblins and trolls scattered about, looting the ruins of the place.
There are several secrets to explore within the Blighted Village Baldur's Gate 3 if you want to stop or come back later before entering Act 2.
From the entrance to the Blighted Village via the bridge mentioned above, you will need to continue west, following a very straight path. When you get close to the outskirts of the area, you should see another bridge, and this one leads directly to the entrance of the Goblin Camp. By skipping it, you will be stopped by other goblins and wargs and you will have to find a way to accessby persuasion, deception, or threats. Once this is done, you can move forward and see the Goblin Party enter Baldur's Gate 3.
How to Poison the Goblin Camp at Baldur's Gate 3
You have a few options to choose from
Before entering the inner temple proper, you should see a large fire that the goblins use to roast some meat. Next to it is a Drinking Tub (X: -99 Y:442). To poison the Goblin Camp, you'll need to click on the tub and add elemental Poison, Wyvern poison, or Drow poison.
You can get Wyvern Toxin by talking to Healer Nettie in Emerald Grove. Basic Poison is also often dropped by various enemies.
Goblins will challenge you if they see you trying to poison their alcohol. Your chosen party member will have several chat options to avoid combat. This includes Deception, Intimidation, Persuasion with Illithids, or Get Thoughts. These options are usually best suited for characters with high Charisma, such as Baldur's Gate 3's Bad luck.
However, failure of this skill test will start a fight, so the best way is to poison in the bathtub while Invisibility. There are several ways to disappear, including potions or spells. Bards, Sorcerers, Warlocks, and Wizards can all learn Invisibility spells as early as Level 3. Characters who cannot cast spells can purchase Invisibility Potions. These are sold by many vendors in Act One, including Aunt Ethel in Druid Grove and Roah Moonglow in Shattered Sanctum.
After adding the poison, a cutscene will start as the Goblins get more drinks from the Booze Tub. One of them will ask why you don't join their celebratory drinks, and you'll have the option of leading a toast to the Goblins' success for the reunion. After this, your character can:
- Spill their drink, but pretend to drink (Pass Sleight of Hand 10 Check)
- Mention that it would be foolish to drink before those in charge (Pass Deception 10 Check)
- Drink poison. However, you can pass a Constitution 15 check to avoid receiving the Debuff debuff.
There is also a simple solution: take a drink and follow up with a bottle of Antidote.
What to Do After Poisoning the Goblin Camp at Baldur's Gate 3
You May Be Forced To Fight An Entire Goblin Squad
After the toast, some Goblins will drink. Several Goblins will die instantly, while others will suffer from reduced health. However, not all will be affected. Goblins will quickly accuse your party of poisoning them. You can immediately agree, start fighting or:

Convince them you wouldn't be here if you poisoned them (Pass Deception 15 check)

Use it Get Thoughts and pass an Intelligence 12 Check to make sure they are immune to the elements.

Intimidate them into retreat (Pass Intimidation 10 Check)
If you pass the checks, the Goblins will end their party, destroy the Booze Tub, and be on high alert. If you fail, your party will need to kill the remaining Goblins. This is still one of the hardest early battles Baldur's Gate 3 because of the number of enemies. However, poisoning the Goblin Camp gives you a decisive advantage that should not be overlooked.
