Happy Gilmore 2 star Julie Bowen has revealed the status of her character's relationship with Adam Sandler's titular golfer. Currently filming in New Jersey, Sandler's new sequel picks up nearly 30 years after the events of his 1996 hit comedy. In addition to Bowen's return as Virginia Venit, Gilmore's love interest from the first film, Happy Gilmore 2The cast will also feature the return of Christopher McDonald as the villainous Shooter McGavin. Meanwhile, musician Benito Antonio Martínez Ócacia, aka Bad Bunny, will rejoin the cast in an as-yet-unknown role.
The latest from Today With Hoda & Jenna (with People), Bowen was asked if his character and Sandler's Happy Gilmore were still together when audiences last saw them. Although he agreed that he could disclose “absolutely zero” about the upcoming sequel, confirmed that Virginia and Happy are still a couple. Check out his comments below:
