The Good Omens season 2 cast is full of faces both old and new, taking Neil Gaiman’s original story past its source material and into uncharted territory. The Amazon Prime series Good Omens is based on the eponymous novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, and sees angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley live life on Earth as ambassadors of heaven and hell, respectively. The two strike up an unlikely friendship during their time on Earth, but the upcoming armageddon seeks to undo all of their hard work. Therefore, Aziraphale and Crowley band together to stop the coming of the antichrist so they can continue to enjoy their peaceful existence.
All of this was chronicled leading up to the Good Omens season 1 ending, but the show was such a breakout hit that audiences demanded a second installment, despite the events of the book playing out in full. Luckily, viewers saw their wishes granted and Good Omens season 2 premieres on the streaming service July 28th, 2023. With a wholly new story crafted, this meant that there had to be a fair few additions to the Good Omens season 2 cast. A couple of cast members from season 1 were given new roles, others were recast, and some remain on as their original characters.
Michael Sheen As Aziraphale
Michael Sheen plays Aziraphale in the Good Omens season 2 cast, reprising his main role from season 1. Michael Sheen was born in Newport, Wales and first starred in the TV miniseries Mystery!: Gallowglass as Joe in 1993. He got his big break in the Kate Beckinsale-led Underworld franchise, during which he played the Lycan Lucian. This is what makes the choice of Sheen in the role of an angel so unusual, as he seems to veer toward villainy when playing supernatural characters. Season 2 will see Aziraphale hiding the angel Gabriel from heaven and hell, who appears to have shown up on Earth with complete amnesia.
Michael Sheen has had a storied career, but outside of the Underworld franchise is best known for playing the British talk-show host David Frost in Frost/Nixon, Inez’s friend and the blowhard Paul in Midnight in Paris, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair in The Queen, and sex researcher Dr. William Masters in Masters of Sex. Some may also recognize Sheen for playing the Volturi member Aro in the Twilight franchise. Most recently, Sheen has voiced Paul in another Neil Gaiman project, The Sandman, and starred in Staged as himself alongside his Good Omens co-star David Tennant. He can soon be seen in The Price of Admission and Heart of Darkness.
David Tennant As Crowley
David Tennant joins the Good Omens season 2 cast as Crowley, the second main protagonist of the series. David Tennant was born in West Lothian, Scotland and got his start in the industry playing Neil McDonald in a 1988 episode of Dramarama. He arguably got his big break when he played DI Peter Carlisle in the acclaimed miniseries Blackpool before getting to play Barty Crouch Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Crowley will be assisting Aziraphale in hiding Gabriel in Good Omens season 2, and trailers show that he worms his way past the pearly gates with Muriel at some point.
David Tennant is best known for playing the beloved 14th iteration of the Doctor in the long-running Doctor Who series before passing the buck to Jodie Whittaker. He’s also relatively well known for portraying the villainous Kilgrave in Jessica Jones, DI Alec Hardy in Broadchurch, and the Las Vegas magician/vampire expert Peter Vincent in the Fright Night remake. Tennant recently starred in Staged as himself opposite Michael Sheen and played Alexander Litvinenko in the historical drama Litvinenko. Tennant has a ton of upcoming projects in the works, including but not limited to Rivals, High Stakes, and Ahsoka.
Jon Hamm As Gabriel
Jon Hamm’s Good Omens season 2 cast character is Gabriel, the same angel from season 1, but who returns to Earth with complete amnesia. John Hamm is from St. Louis, Missouri, and saw his first television role in 1997 when he was cast as an attractive man in a bar in Ally McBeal. Though he did have a leading role in the TV show The Division, arguably his breakout part was that of Don Draper in the series Mad Men. However, outside of that role, Hamm has been known to play happy-go-lucky yet shallow and slightly dim characters, which makes his casting as Gabriel near perfect.
Jon Hamm is most well-recognized for playing Annie’s sleazy friend-with-benefits Ted in Bridesmaids, the sports agent JB in Million Dollar Arm, FBI Agent Adam Frawley in the crime thriller The Town, and Bob Callahan in the feel-good comedy Tag. He’s had roles in other TV shows like Black Mirror, 30 Rock, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Most recently, Hamm appeared in Top Gun: Maverick as Beau “Cyclone” Simpson, Roy in the TV adaptation of Fargo, and police chief Sanders in the crime comedy Maggie Moore(s). He will soon voice Sentinel Prime in Transformers One, play Coach Carr in Mean Girls Musical, and cameos in The Morning Show as Paul Marks.
Doon Mackichan As Michael
Doon Mackichan plays the archangel Michael in the Good Omens season 2 cast. Doon Mackichan hails from London, England, and got her start in 1986 playing various characters on the show Five Alive. She got her big break with the comedy sketch show Smack the Pony, which has made her casting as Michael all the stranger. Normally, Mackichan takes on comedic roles often working with the likes of Steve Coogan. However, Michael is cold, calculated, manipulative, and a staunch supporter of heaven, no matter the cost. Presumably, Michael will be hot on Gabriel’s trail in Good Omens season 2.
Doon Mackichan is best known for playing Flavia in the historical comedy series Plebs, playing a variety of characters on the comedy sketch “news” show The Day Today, and portraying even more comedic characters on the sketch show The Glam Metal Detectives. More recently, Mackichan portrayed Cheryl in The Duchess, voiced the Queen in one of Netflix’s top-watched movies of all time The Sea Beast, and has a role as Cathy in Two Doors Down.
Gloria Obianyo As Uriel
Gloria Obianyo joins the Good Omens season 2 cast as the angel Uriel, an associate of Michael’s who is a bit calmer than the other archangel. Gloria Obianyo is from London, England, and saw her first role playing Lady Trelaw in The Grinning Man. She doesn’t have a lot of credits to her name outside of Good Omens, so she truly gets to flex her talents as playing the steady but sometimes harsh archangel Uriel. Likely, Uriel will be joining Michael and the other archangels in their search for the missing Gabriel in Good Omens season 2.
Gloria Obianyo is best known for playing a female Fremen in Dune: Part One, the pregnant prisoner Elektra in the sci-fi film High Life alongside Robert Pattinson, and Neoptolemus in National Theatre Live: Paradise. Most recently, Obianyo portrayed young Oyin in Riches, voiced Jamie in the video game The Dark Pictures: The Devil In Me, and headlined the TV movie The Clinic as Oré. She will soon appear in the popular historical romance show Outlander as Mercy Woodcock and play Angela in the drama/thriller miniseries Eric.
Miranda Richardson As Shax
Miranda Richardson’s Good Omens season 2 cast character is the demon Shax, who has taken over for Crowley, switching her role of Madame Tracy from season 1. Miranda Richardson was born in Southport, Lancashire, England, and saw her first television role in 1981 playing Gudrun in an episode of Agony. She became a household name thanks to her part in the Blackadder franchise and has since became known for playing either comedic or villainous roles, sometimes both. She brings that prowess straight to Good Omens season 2, and Shax warns Crowley that there’s something going on in heaven.
Miranda Richardson is best known for playing Jude in The Crying Game, Lady Van Tassel in Sleepy Hollow, Yvonne in Spider, and Vanessa Bell in The Hours. Some may also recognize her for taking on the part of the sneaky reporter Rita Skeeter in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and beyond. Recently, Richardson voiced Madame LaVaughn in The Magician’s Elephant, played the formidable headmistress Rosalind Hale in Fate: The Winx Saga, and portrayed Jane in an episode of Modern Love. She can soon be seen in the biographical drama The Yellow Tie as Ioana Celibidache.
Maggie Service As Maggie
Maggie Service plays Maggie in the Good Omens season 2 cast, a completely different part than her season 1 role as the satanic nun Sister Theresa Garrulous. Maggie Service is from the United Kingdom and started out voicing the computer in the TV series Hyperdrive. Good Omens is truly her breakout performance, as she doesn’t have many leading roles to her name, so the actress gets to showcase her talent in not one, but two parts. Maggie in Good Omens season 2 is a record store owner, whose shop is right next to Aziraphale’s bookstore in Soho.
Maggie Service is probably best known for playing Kerry the floor manager in the miniseries Quiz, Barker in an episode of the sci-fi series Red Dwarf, and Elsie in an installment of Doctor Who. More recently, Service appeared in an episode of The Hillywood Show as an Amazon Employee, Sarah in an installment of Life, and Nurse Jones in the miniseries The Remote Read.
Nina Sosanya As Nina
Nina Sosanya’s Good Omens season 2 cast character is Nina, which is a different part than her season 1 role of Sister Mary Loquacious. Nina Sosanya was born in London, England, and got her start playing Linda in an episode of The Bill. She arguably got her big break playing Annie in Love, Actually, and has had a variety of roles since then. Since Sosanya has played a number of different characters, it comes as no surprise that she’s talented enough to take on differing roles in Good Omens. Season 2 sees Nina as a coffee shop owner, whose store is close to Aziraphale’s in Soho.
Nina Sosanya is best known for playing Colly Trent in the show Five Days, Sasha in the miniseries Nathan Barley, and Elaine Parry in His Dark Materials. She also appeared with Michael Sheen and David Tennant in their series Staged, and her more recent roles include Pam in Brian and Charles, Anne Landy in Roald & Beatrix: The Tail of the Curious Mouse, and Leigh Henry in the crime drama/thriller series Screw. She can soon be seen in Quentin Blake’s Box of Treasures as Angela and The End We Start From.
Liz Carr As Saraqael
Liz Carr joins the Good Omens season 2 cast as Saraqael, an angel who based on promotional photos looks to be in league with Michael and Uriel. Liz Carr grew up in Bebington, England, and got her start playing the Death Provider in the 2017 crime movie Le Accelerator. She got her big break playing Garrick in the Antoine Fuqua movie Infinite. Carr has played numerous different types of characters, so it’s unknown what energy she’ll bring to Saraqael, but there’s no question it will be terrific. Presumably, Saraqael will be looking for Gabriel with Uriel and Michael.
Liz Carr is first and foremost an activist and campaigner for civil rights for the differently abled in the UK. However, she’s also known for portraying Clarissa Mullery in Silent Witness, Dr. Marlow Rhodes in The OA, and the concierge in the Les Misérables miniseries. Her most recent credits include a couple of episodes as Fenn on The Witcher, Liz in the TV movie Then Barbara Met Alan, and Tina in an installment of This is Going to Hurt.
Quelin Sepulveda As Muriel
Quelin Sepulveda joins the Good Omens season 2 cast as Muriel, an angel who was sent down to Earth disguised as a human police officer to find Gabriel. Sepulveda only has a few credits to her name thus far, but she looks to bring a bright and encouraging energy to Muriel, though the character does appear to have some anxiety surrounding her situation.
At one point, Muriel is shown bringing Crowley past the pearly gates and into heaven, something that causes her great distress. Outside of appearing in Good Omens season 2, Sepulveda is best known for having roles in Havoc, playing Vicki in two episodes of The Man Who Fell to Earth, and portraying Shona in the short film The Other End.
Shelley Conn As Beelzebub
Shelley Conn plays Beelzebub in the Good Omens season 2 cast, taking over the role from the original actress Anna Maxwell Martin. Raised in the UK, Conn got her start appearing as Uzma in the TV movie The Last Muskateer but is probably best known for playing Lady Mary Sharma in Bridgerton. Conn has played it all, from villain to hero, so she’ll surely bring the same amount of horribleness that Martin brought in portraying the Prince of Hell. It’s unknown what Beelzebub will be up to in Good Omens season 2, but chances are it’ll cause nothing but trouble for Aziraphale and Crowley.
Shelley Conn is most well known for playing Isabella in the dramedy romance movie Love Sarah, Dr. Elisabeth Shannon in the adventure/mystery TV series Terra Nova, and Dion Cross in an episode of The Irregulars. Conn’s most recent credits include playing Nadia Persaud in the TV miniseries Four Lives, embodying The Stranger in the short film Fellow Creatures, and portraying Mrs. Sidiqui in the TV show Dodo. She will also soon have roles as Laura Kellner in Alex Rider and The Boys spinoff series Gen V.

Ty Tennant as Ennon: David Tennant’s son Ty Tennant joins the Good Omens season 2 cast as Ennon. Little is known about the character as of yet, but Tennant recently played young Aegon Targaryen in House of the Dragon and has also played Tom Gresham in the War of the Worlds series and young Christopher Wiseman in Tolkien.
Peter Davison as Alistair: Peter Davison’s Good Omens season 2 cast character is Alistair, and nothing has been revealed about him yet. Davison had a long run as the Doctor on Doctor Who, but has also had roles in All Creatures Great and Small, Gentleman Jack, and Life.

Elizabeth Berrington as Dagon: Elizabeth Berrington reprises the role of the demon Dagon, Lord of the Flies, for the Good Omens season 2 cast. Berrington has quite the list of impressive projects to her name, appearing in In Bruges, Last Night in Soho, Secrets & Lies, and Spencer.
Paul Adeyafa as Demon Eric: Paul Adeyafa’s demon is given a name for Good Omens season 2, meaning he’s not so “disposable” this time around. However, not much is known about Demon Eric’s role in the plot. Adeyafa has previously starred in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Bancroft, and Ransom.
Tim Downie as Mr. Brown: Tim Downie plays Mr. Brown in the Good Omens season 2 cast, likely a human who has ties to Aziraphale. Downie is best known for playing Governor Tryon in Outlander, Montgomery Clyde in Paddington, and Marlowe in Upstart Crow.
Andi Osho as Sitis: Andi Osho joins the Good Omens season 2 cast as Sitis, another character whom not much is known about. Osho has had other roles in projects like Shazam!, I May Destroy You, The Sandman, and Line of Duty.
Alex Norton as Tulloch: Veteran actor Alex Norton’s Good Omens season 2 cast character is Tulloch, whose origins and alignments are unknown. Norton has an impressive resume, being given roles in projects like Braveheart, The Count of Monte Cristo, Local Hero, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.
Siân Phillips as unknown: Dame Siân Phillips plays an undisclosed role in the Good Omens season 2 cast. She’s an exciting addition indeed, starring in major blockbusters like the original Dune, Clash of the Titans, Goodbye, Mr. Chips, and the 1976 TV miniseries I, Claudius.
Pete Firman as unknown: Chances are Pete Firman will bring his talents as the UK’s leading comedian/magician to the Good Omens season 2 cast. Firman has displayed his talents on Monkey Magic, The Magicians, and Secret World of Magic.
