That being said, it's worth noting that while it's an entirely new show, it's spiritually a continuation of Young Sheldon. Georgie and Mandy remain in Medfordbut since they now live with the McAllisters across town, the show may not feature the Cooper family as often as it did in Young Sheldon. Coach Wilkins is still scheduled to coach in Medford, which makes his appearance not difficult to explain.

Regardless of the role he will play, however, Seeing Farrow back as Coach Wilkins is a pleasureespecially for those who watched Young Sheldon in its previous seasons. While The Big Bang Theory prequel decreased his involvement in later years due to the change in storytelling approach, the character was always a scene-stealer. He always managed to stand out. Additionally, he was also one of the few people who had connections to patriarch Cooper's life beyond his family. In fact, he and Rex Linn's director Petersen delivered the news of George's death to their clan.
