Following Sunday and Jing Yuan's run in the Phase 1 banners of version 2.7, Fugue and Firefly will be featured during the Phase 2 banners of the patch. Characters will be available to pull in the gacha system from December 25th to January 14th, 2025when the version 3.0 update is expected to be added – this has yet to be confirmed by HoYoverse, but in-game patches typically last six weeks, so it's likely Honkai: Star Trail 3.0 will arrive on that date. There were some rumors that version 2.7 would be the longest patch.
This would possibly extend the duration of the Phase 2 banners, but this has since been proven to be incorrect thanks to the updated banners and dated availability for Fugue and Firefly. There's no indication that the patch will be delayed in any way, but if it does, there's also a chance that players will be able to pull Fugue and Firefly for longer.. Fugue operates as a Break DMG support character
As mentioned, Fugue is a character from Fire in the Path of Nihility. Although she is a debuffer at her core, Fugue's specialty does not revolve around DoT (damage over time) effects, but instead applies DEF reduction to enemies and makes her teammates stronger.. Fugue can improve the Break DMG dealt by his target allies and automatically allow Super Break DMG to be dealt constantly. Overall, Fugue is a replacement for the Harmony Trailblazer in Honkai: Star Trailwhich itself comes with some pros and cons. The first advantage is, of course, enabling Super Break DMG effortlessly.

If this is not a problem, however, Fugue could be a great character to have, especially with the possible retirement of Harmony Trailblazer. Players will still be able to use the protagonist's Harmony form and swap it out at any time, but the arrival of the Remembrance Trailblazer in Honkai: Star Trail You'll likely see players using the character's new path instead of the old one, and that's where Escape could come in handy. Having her in the lineup can help keep Break DMG team compositions active, even when not using the Harmony Trailblazer.
Because of how good of a support Fugue is for these teams, players who already have any of the Break DMG DPS units mentioned above should consider pulling it. Escape is a great way to make these characters shine; she will activate Super Break DMG and by buffing them will increase your Break Effect stat, which can have a significant impact during combat – a firefly in Honkai: Star Trail anyone who normally can't reach the 250% break effect required for Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge's 4-piece effect can receive enough bonuses to activate it, for example.

If players can ensure that she is accompanied by such characters, it is highly recommended that Firefly be obtained in Honkai: Star Trail 2.7 flags.
Another thing to be wary of with Firefly is that its ideal build can be somewhat difficult to achieve.. In addition to a very high Break Effect stat (preferably above 250% at least), players will also need to focus on a high and healthy distribution of CRIT Rate/CRIT DMG, as well as bonuses to SPD and ATK. Due to how difficult it is to obtain some of these stats, it may take a while to fully optimize Firefly's stats into Honkai: Star Trail.
Overall, the choice between Fugue and Firefly will depend on what the player needs. If they are looking for a support unit for their Super Break DMG team compositions, Fugue is the best solution available, especially since the release of the Remembrance Trailblazer could take some value away from the Harmony Trailblazer. If players want to start building their Break DMG team composition, Firefly is the way to go, as she is one of the best DPS units in the category, although she still relies on more allies in the game.
