You must pull for escape or firefly

Players may be forced to choose between Fugue and Firefly in Honkai: Star Trail 2.7, as both 5-star characters appear in banners and there is always a limited number of free Primogems that can be obtained just by playing the game. Version 2.7 is the final patch for HoYoverse's turn-based RPG before the introduction of version 3.0 and Amphorausnext destination for Expresso Astral expeditions. The arrival of version 3.0 will change things significantly, as Ampforeus in Honkai: Star Trail 3.0 is also expected to bring new mechanics, including Remembrance, the game's first playable path since launch.

Fugue is a new 5-star Fire Nihility character introduced in version 2.7. She acts as support for Break DMG team compositions and automatically activates Super Break DMG when on the field. Firefly, on the other hand, was released in version 2.3. The 5-star Fire character follows the Path of Destruction and is a Break DMG DPS. This could be the last chance for some time for players to bet on Fugue or Firefly as HoYoverse will start to focus a lot on the Ampforeus characters in Honkai: Star Trailalthough they may appear again in future reruns.

Fugue and Firefly appear in Honkai: Star Rail 2.7 phase 2 banners until mid-January

It may take a while for characters to be repeated

Following Sunday and Jing Yuan's run in the Phase 1 banners of version 2.7, Fugue and Firefly will be featured during the Phase 2 banners of the patch. Characters will be available to pull in the gacha system from December 25th to January 14th, 2025when the version 3.0 update is expected to be added – this has yet to be confirmed by HoYoverse, but in-game patches typically last six weeks, so it's likely Honkai: Star Trail 3.0 will arrive on that date. There were some rumors that version 2.7 would be the longest patch.

This would possibly extend the duration of the Phase 2 banners, but this has since been proven to be incorrect thanks to the updated banners and dated availability for Fugue and Firefly. There's no indication that the patch will be delayed in any way, but if it does, there's also a chance that players will be able to pull Fugue and Firefly for longer.. However, you should plan to obtain them by January 14th, when the system maintenance period ends. Honkai: Star Trail 3.0 will probably start.

Pros and Cons of Pulling to Escape in Honkai: Star Rail 2.7

Fugue operates as a Break DMG support character

Honkai: Star Rail Fugue new character from update 2.6

As mentioned, Fugue is a character from Fire in the Path of Nihility. Although she is a debuffer at her core, Fugue's specialty does not revolve around DoT (damage over time) effects, but instead applies DEF reduction to enemies and makes her teammates stronger.. Fugue can improve the Break DMG dealt by his target allies and automatically allow Super Break DMG to be dealt constantly. Overall, Fugue is a replacement for the Harmony Trailblazer in Honkai: Star Trailwhich itself comes with some pros and cons. The first advantage is, of course, enabling Super Break DMG effortlessly.

When on the field, all of your allies can deal Super Break DMG to opponents who are Weakness Broken. In turn, this helps optimize the team's damage output. Its DEF reduction also plays an important role in increasing overall damage, as enemies will be more vulnerable to player attacks.. Additionally, Fugue can help by having your chosen ally ignore an enemy's DEF and reduce their Resistance, regardless of Weaknesses. She can also contribute to this by ignoring Weaknesses with her Ultimate, while the Escape Talent in Honkai: Star Trail can force opponents to suffer a secondary instance of Break DMG.

One problem with Fugue is that its use is limited primarily to Break DMG team compositions.. This means she is currently designed to serve characters like Firefly, Boothill, Rappa, and Xueyi, all of whom thrive on the Break Effect stat. For other types of team compositions, Fugue doesn't shine as much. Additionally, for more effective team compositions, Fugue relies on both Ruan Mei and Harmony Trailblazer, so players would have to have at least two other specific premium characters to accompany her.

If this is not a problem, however, Fugue could be a great character to have, especially with the possible retirement of Harmony Trailblazer. Players will still be able to use the protagonist's Harmony form and swap it out at any time, but the arrival of the Remembrance Trailblazer in Honkai: Star Trail You'll likely see players using the character's new path instead of the old one, and that's where Escape could come in handy. Having her in the lineup can help keep Break DMG team compositions active, even when not using the Harmony Trailblazer.

Because of how good of a support Fugue is for these teams, players who already have any of the Break DMG DPS units mentioned above should consider pulling it. Escape is a great way to make these characters shine; she will activate Super Break DMG and by buffing them will increase your Break Effect stat, which can have a significant impact during combat – a firefly in Honkai: Star Trail anyone who normally can't reach the 250% break effect required for Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge's 4-piece effect can receive enough bonuses to activate it, for example.

Pros and cons of pulling for Firefly in Honkai: Star Rail 2.7

The destruction character is one of the best DPS units

Firefly from Honkai Star Rail smiles kindly at Penacony.

On the contrary, Firefly is well established as one of the best DPS units. The Fire Destruction character's damage output lowers her Break Effect stat and she excels at dealing Break DMG to opponents. This is what makes Firefly such an excellent unit when it runs alongside the Harmony Trailblazer or even the Fugue, for example. Firefly can consistently dish out targeted Fire DMG to enemies, and with the proper team composition, this can be Super Break DMG. In terms of damage output, Firefly can be one of the most impactful DPS in the game. Honkai: Star Trailespecially when focusing on a single enemy.

One of the main problems with Firefly, however, is how dependent she is on her team – and how specific her allies need to be. To unlock Firefly's true potential, players will need Ruan Mei and the Harmony Trailblazer or Fugue to unlock the Super Break DMG. Firefly can deal a huge amount of damage individually, but it's the other units that make it exceptional.

If players can ensure that she is accompanied by such characters, it is highly recommended that Firefly be obtained in Honkai: Star Trail 2.7 flags.

Another thing to be wary of with Firefly is that its ideal build can be somewhat difficult to achieve.. In addition to a very high Break Effect stat (preferably above 250% at least), players will also need to focus on a high and healthy distribution of CRIT Rate/CRIT DMG, as well as bonuses to SPD and ATK. Due to how difficult it is to obtain some of these stats, it may take a while to fully optimize Firefly's stats into Honkai: Star Trail.

Overall, the choice between Fugue and Firefly will depend on what the player needs. If they are looking for a support unit for their Super Break DMG team compositions, Fugue is the best solution available, especially since the release of the Remembrance Trailblazer could take some value away from the Harmony Trailblazer. If players want to start building their Break DMG team composition, Firefly is the way to go, as she is one of the best DPS units in the category, although she still relies on more allies in the game. Honkai: Star Trail.
