The early days of Rip and Beth’s marriage are being put to the test in yellow stone Season 5, Part B. After the first few seasons saw their relationship proceed at a casual pace, the Season 4 finale saw the two finally get married, with the latter kidnapping a Catholic priest and bringing him to the Dutton family ranch to marry them. While Part A of Season 5 generally saw the two living happily while raising the now much more mature Carter, it also followed Beth as her rivalry with her adopted brother Jamie escalated.
THE yellow stone The Season 5 Part A finale presented the couple with two major obstacles, the first of which was that Kevin Costner’s John Dutton III sent Rip and a select number of cowboys to Texas to protect his cattle after part of their land was contaminated. More than a simple transport, this requires Rip and Beth to be separated for an entire year, all the more problematic because the other obstacle presented is that the latter and Jamie have declared war on each other. With Jamie also considering hiring assassins to kill Beth and John, the split between Beth and Rip could be permanent.
THE yellow stone The Season 5 Part B cast includes the return of Wes Bentley as Jamie and Kelly Reilly as Beth alongside Luke Grimes, Kelsey Asbille, Cole Hauser, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, Gil Birmingham, Ryan Bingham, Wendy Moniz, Forrie J. Smith and Dawn Oliveri. Delivering some of the most shocking twists while also offering some emotional character development, Taylor Sheridan appears to be delivering her show in style.
Anticipating the return of the show, Screen speech interviewed Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser to discuss yellow stone Season 5, Part B, how intense the war between Jamie and Beth will be, especially with Costner’s John absent from the ranch and the series’ final episodes, as well as how Rip will have to step up and run the ranch and lead his cowboys.
John’s absence will affect Beth”Wildly“Entering yellow stoneFinal Episodes
“John Dutton is still a very central character…”
Screen Rant: It’s great to meet you two and talk about yellow stone. I admit I jumped on the bandwagon a little late for Part A, and I’ve loved it ever since. Kelly, I’d like to start with you first. As we’ve seen throughout the series, Beth is always a fighter ready to fight anyone, but John has always been there to corner her. With his absence in these final episodes, how will this emotionally affect her and her role on the ranch?
Kelly Reilly: It affects her a lot. Her father is everything to her, just like Rip. These two men in your life are your pillars and yes, you can imagine what that can do to someone who has been so devoted. John Dutton is still a very central character in our series this last season. His absence is only physical, he is present in all of us as we work this out.
It’s time to tear up”To grow“In the wake of John’s absence
“…he laid the foundations…”
Cole, I’ll talk to you next on a similar note about John’s absence. Rip and John’s bond has been one of the most heartwarming things to watch on the series. I especially think about the letter he received when he got the cabin in Season 3. I’d love to hear what Rip is feeling about John’s absence, especially with Kayce arriving almost as his unofficial replacement, and it’s always been a weird mental tug of war for Rip throughout the show.
Cole Hauser: Yes, ultimately it’s time to grow up. I think he laid the groundwork not only for how to run the ranch, but also for the intricacies of the bunkhouse and how to deal with certain things that I’ve done there over the last 20 years. So I feel like for him, it’s not just about supporting Beth and being there for her, but also helping, in any way he can, continue to run the ranch at the highest level.
Beth might take a trip to visit Rip in Texas
“Beth misses Rip very much.”
So I’d love to hear from you two what we can expect from Rip and Beth in this final season. Rip, as you mentioned, supporting Beth helped her find the best way to apologize to John and repair this relationship. What can we expect from the two of you as you begin your relationship in these final episodes?
Kelly Reilly: What can we say? It is difficult. I’d love to share with you what happened so I can tell you what you can expect, but we’re not allowed and we don’t want to spoil anything for the public. But they are very close together. At the end of last season, we see Rip and the cowboys drive the cattle to Texas, then he leaves, and Beth is stuck on the ranch trying to figure out a way to save him, and it kind of falls into her hands, and she doesn’t. Know how to monetize this, or your dad won’t even think about it. It’s becoming more and more challenging and Beth misses Rip terribly. She may or may not make a trip to Texas to see him, so it’s a bit of fun.
Viewers will receive “A final battle“Between Beth and Jamie
“…they have been at war for a long time.”
I’d also love to hear it quickly, because I see I have enough time for one more, about Beth and Jamie’s war this season. As we saw at the end of last season, it ended on a pretty heavy note. What can you tell me about what we can expect from this?
Kelly Reilly: So last season, he, with his new girlfriend, Sarah Atwood, hired a hitman. It doesn’t get more violent than that. And Beth says, “We’re at war,” and I think they’ve been at war for a long time. But I think we are coming to a final battle. I think we’re headed there.
