Axo is an empath who unintentionally alters the emotions of others around him while changing his skin color depending on the emotion used. Another new mutant, Thao Tran – Melee – immediately comes to his defense. like Kate, Melee can become intangible, although she lacks any control.

Meanwhile, Trista “Bronze” Marshall, a mutant who can mimic metal and create retractable cables, relentlessly harassed Kate, who she sees as her idol after Kate helped the young mutant avoid her own confrontation. Together, the three teen mutants make fast friends with each other, desperately hoping that Kate will step up to lead them. As Kate tries to shrug off responsibility, her fears grow even greater when Emma Frost appears to be psychically guiding the mutants to her own developing schemes.

In the ongoing Invisible X-Men series by Gail Simone and David Marquez, four new mutants have debuted, each with their own array of fantastic powers. While Marvel’s roster of young mutants expands, more parties, each with their own goals, will continue to take interest in the opportunities that newly-discovered mutants provide. While Emma is traditionally considered an anti-villain, she has realigned herself as a caring leader in recent years.
