As a die-hard fan of both Wonder Woman and NightwingI almost spat out my pumpkin spice chai tea when I saw Diana Prince wearing a costume that instantly reminded me of one of Dick Grayson’s most iconic Nightwing looks – the Discowing costume. If you thought Dick rocked that ’70s-inspired sequin-filled extravaganza, wait until you see Wonder Woman in her own stunning version.
As blasphemous as it may seem, I might even prefer Wonder Woman’s “Rejecting” suit over Dick’s original…
THE “Deterrent suit” is the fan nickname for Dick’s first Nightwing costume, introduced in Tales of the Teen Titans #44 (1984). Recognizable for its daring neckline, gold sequin details and unmistakable ’70s feel, this outfit achieved iconic status among Dick Grayson fans and remains fondly remembered.

Now, however, Nightwing isn’t the only one adopting this retro style. In Wonder Woman: Discovery #1 by Ivan Cohen and Marguerite Sauvage, Diana sports a surprisingly similar outfit. This one-shot showcases some of Wonder Woman’s most memorable covers, with Cohen and Sauvage adding new art and dialogue—Diana “Rejecting” tribute being one of the standout additions.
Wonder Woman Officially Gets Her Version of Nightwing’s ‘Discowing’ Costume

Wonder Woman: Discovery sees Wonder Girls Yara Flor, Cassie Sandsmark and Donna Troy browsing a collection of iconic Wonder Woman covers, sharing their thoughts and reactions along the way. In an unforgettable panel, Donna and Cassie stand before an image of Diana in an unfamiliar white and gold ensemble, sparking curiosity as neither of them remember her ever wearing that look. This playful moment suggests that Cohen and Sauvage added this outfit just for fun, rather than implying that it is part of Wonder Woman’s official costume history. Regardless of its canon status, this outfit undeniably makes a memorable impression.
Diana is shown in a sleek white jumpsuit with gold details that highlight her biceps, hips and chest, complete with high-heeled boots. The suit’s plunging neckline and exaggerated collar evoke an edgy ’70s feel. As a die-hard fan of Nightwing’s Discowing suit, I couldn’t help but draw comparisons: the plunging neckline, wide collar, and eye-catching gold details make this look feels like a chic homage. As blasphemous as it may seem, I might even prefer Wonder Woman’s “Rejecting” suit over Dick’s original—its elegance and power give it a unique and unforgettable charm.
Wonder Woman’s Bounce Costume Is My Biggest Cosplay Dream Come True
Diana’s gold and white costume combines my two favorite things: Nightwing and Wonder Woman
Seeing Wonder Woman’s discowing-inspired white and gold costume is nothing short of a cosplay dream come true. For years, I imagined a female version of Dick Grayson’s iconic Discowing costumeand while I could have gone the gender-bending route, that approach never appealed to me personally. Now, having one of my all-time favorite female characters, who I already love cosplaying, sporting her own Discowing look feels like it was made just for me. I only wish I had discovered this costume sooner – I would love to debut it this Halloween.
As someone who has explored several Wonder Woman looks, this white and gold jumpsuit is by far the most unique Diana look that I will add to my cosplay portfolio. To create the costume, I plan to start with a white jumpsuit that captures the overall shape and style of the outfit, then add custom gold details to achieve its edgy, ’70s-inspired vibe with a pair of matching high-heeled boots. to complete the look. Overall, it should be a relatively simple costume to put together, with an end result that is simply stunning.
Wonder Woman’s new costume may have been inspired by Fanart
comic panel Superman/Wonder Woman: Future’s End (2014)
Although I’m pretty sure the gold and white costume Wonder Woman: Discovery is not a canon outfit, it bears a close resemblance to the suit Diana wears at the end of Superman/Wonder Woman: Future’s End (2014). The similarity, however, is not exact – especially in the upper design, where the End of Futures version has a bustier style closer to Diana’s classic look. It is also possible that Discovered The design was inspired by a viral fanart by Robnix on deviant artwhich closely reflects this style. Regardless of its origins, I can’t wait to do this Wonder Woman my fantasy.
