The 2023 run of Wonder Woman Emphasizes Diana’s caring and compassionate nature Over her more violent aspects. Issues #4 and #10 – by King and Daniel Sampere – are standouts in this regard: in the former, Wonder Woman defies Amazon’s edict to give a cancer-stricken boy a tour of Paradise Island, while the latter sees You finally forgive and redeem your long-time nemesis, the cheetah.
But Captain Boomerang’s abrasive nature manages to cut through all of Diana’s vaunted patience, instead Provoking her to acts of violence that are much more in line with Wonder Woman Who snapped Maxwell Lord’s neck in 2005 as her contemporary incarnation.
To be fair to Diana, Captain Boomerang is no ordinary scumbag. Although contemporary depictions are quick to play him off as a joke (he has been frequently killed since 2021 The Suicide Squad film, directed by James Gunn), this is still the man who killed Tim Drake’s father in Identity crisis. Captain Boomerang’s rude behavior and blatant disregard for anyone but himself Put him in the dubious company of figures like Dr. Psycho and Maxwell Lord—those few, rare people whom Diana finds to be utterly irascible and who can only be met with violence.
