Combining all the best elements of their genres, The sticky offers a compelling crime story that's also hilarious.

With the first season still fresh in viewers' minds, the latest news comes in the form of a season 2 update for The sticky. While discussing the series, creators Brian Donovan and Ed Herro spent some time outlining their plans for the series' future. When asked if the three-season plan was in the works, Herro and Donovan responded by revealing that a five-season plan is in place. While they didn't reveal much, the creators seemed to hint that the future of the series lies in exploring the characters' pasts.

If the series continues to grow over five seasons, there's no telling where The sticky could go.

They also suggested that future seasons would take more liberties with the story in order to flesh out the exciting elements of the series. “The original crime was very boring – they slowly and silently took out the syrup and eventually got caught… This is not good TV” said Donovan. He then mentioned that bigger robberies could occur soonwhich means a huge deviation from the real-life story. If the series continues to grow over five seasons, there's no telling where The sticky could go.

Read Donovan and Herro's full comments here:

HERO: You are very intelligent, but you underestimated us. We have five seasons planned. The original crime was pretty boring – they slowly and silently removed the syrup, then got caught and went to jail. That's not good TV. So we planned five seasons with these three characters growing, fighting, falling apart and rebuilding themselves again over the course of this big heist as the centerpiece.

DONOVAN: Many of these characters have known each other for decades, and that's something we didn't get a chance to fully explore in the show's first season – some of that backstory, how they got to where they are and how that relationship will evolve with everyone involved from here on out. front. So there's so much there that we're dying to explore. There are seasons of these characters, and we want to see how crime takes them and changes them. Remy is the sweetest guy in the world, and how does crime affect him? These are all things we're dying to explore.
