It’s unlikely that fans will get to see a Poldark Season 6, but there are still a few ways the show could continue in one form or another. Based on Poldark series of Winston Graham novels, the British historical drama TV show premiered in March 2015 and ran until August 2019 with Poldark season 5. The show follows Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner), a British army vet who served in the American Revolutionary War. When he returns to Cornwall, he finds his estate in ruins and must work to rebuild his fortune.
In his efforts to rebuild, Poldark hires a maid, Demelza Carne (Eleanor Tomlinson), with whom he eventually falls in love and marries. An extensive historical epic, Poldark faces a tumultuous period in world history as he tries to keep his family together and return the Poldark name to glory. The final season sees the French threatening to invade England, with their ships approaching the Cornish coast of Poldark. Ross thwarts the invasion and leaves in search of more adventures, promising to return soon to his pregnant wife. It’s a bit of an abrupt ending, but it definitely ends.
Poldark Season 6 Could Continue Adapting the Book Series
There are five more books in The Poldark: A Cornish Romance Series
Poldark season 6 has not been confirmed, and for all intents and purposesIt looks like the show is officially over. The book series consists of 12 novels, each subtitled, A Cornish romance. Each season of Poldark adapted at least one book, with the first two seasons adapting two novels each, the third adapting the fifth and part of the sixth, and the fourth adapting part of the sixth and seventh. The eighth novel takes place nine years after the seventh book, so to resolve this time jump, Poldark Season 5 features an original storyline.

While this was a useful decision for the TV series, ensuring that the same actors could portray the characters from beginning to end and avoiding any confusion Dragon Housecast change in style, this also means that adapting the remaining five books from Poldark series can be difficult, if not impossible. These remaining books could be adapted for Season 6, but Poldark it would almost need to be a completely different show. These novels focus on the descendants of Poldark and Demelza in the 19th century, meaning the cast would have to be entirely new.
Ross Poldark actor Aidan Turner thinks season 6 could follow Jeremy
Ross’ son Jeremy could be the main character in a Poldark revival
Aidan Turner has an idea of how Poldark season 6 could continue, suggesting that the character “Jeremy” could be the new protagonist (via RadioTimes),
“There are some books…I need to check which books they are. I think Ross is a little older. I think Jeremy, Ross’s son, is 16 or 18 or something. And I think when we leave Ross, I think Jeremy might I’m only 10 years old. I’m not sure.”
Ross’ youngest son, Jeremy, played by Oscar Novak, is in fact about 10 years old at the end of Poldark Season 6, and Novak appears in every episode of Season 5, although rarely for long. If season 6 followed books 8-12, which are set nine years after the events of the series, Jeremy would be at the perfect age to lead a compelling narrative arc.
Poldark Season 6, or perhaps it could have another name to differentiate the timeline from the original, could follow Jeremy’s exploits in the 19th century. The series could follow the books or explore real events of the time, such as the Napoleonic Wars or the merger of the Kingdoms of Ireland and England.
