Notice! This article contains spoilers for episodes 8 and 9 of Agatha All Along.Billy Kaplan’s Spectacular Wiccan Fantasy in Agatha all the time episode 8 highlights a costume-related question that the MCU has yet to answer. Agatha all the timeThe two-episode finale features Billy Kaplan’s complete transformation into the powerful Wiccan wizard after Agatha Harkness helps him locate Tommy Maximoff’s soul and place it inside a dying teenager. In return, Billy lends Agatha some of his power so she can regain her magic. However, as he is still inexperienced in combat, Death easily incapacitates Billy.
There are several key differences between Wiccan’s comic book origin and his history in the MCU. Instead of traveling the Witch’s Road with Agatha Harkness, Marvel Comics’ Billy Kaplan meets Scarlet Witch and wants to follow in her footsteps as a magic-using superhero. Billy soon becomes a founding member of the Young Avengers. In the MCU, on the other hand, Billy must gain his Wiccan powers by completing a journey through the Witches’ Road and succeeding in his final test, which causes Billy to reincarnate his twin brother Tommy. Billy’s superhero costume represents the successful completion of his mission.
Wiccan’s MCU costume is a perfect recreation of the comics
Billy Kaplan’s Wiccan MCU Fantasy Is Modernized But Simple
The MCU is often criticized for its many oversized costumes, as heroes like Spider-Man, Ant-Man, and Thor have been given costumes with intricate details that can seem superfluous. Joe Locke’s Wiccan avoids this problem. Unlike most MCU costumes, Wiccan’s costume has no extra seams, shapes, or panels. It consists only of a dark blue long-sleeved shirt, dark blue pants, black belt, gloves and boots; as well as a red hood, in addition to Billy’s blue magical helmet. Taking inspiration from some iterations of Wiccan’s comic book costume, his pants include subtle light details that give the impression of a starry night.
Superhero costumes are always evolving, but Wiccan’s costumes are remarkably consistent across the comics. It usually consists of a dark blue or black long-sleeved shirt and dark pants, as well as black gloves, boots, and a belt, as well as a silver sash and a tattered red hood. Sometimes the details on the Wiccan’s clothing are gold, sometimes they are white, and sometimes they glow blue. Under the “Asgardian” nickname, Billy also wears a pair of silver wings similar to those on Thor’s original helmet.
I still don’t understand where Wiccan got his MCU costume
MCU Magic Wielders somehow get costume upgrades out of nowhere
After Billy completes the Witch Road’s final trial in Agatha all the time episode 8, he arrives to face Death in full Wicca garb. It is unclear whether the Witch’s Road granted Billy his costume, or whether Agatha unlocked Billy’s full power and thus helped him develop his own costume in the same way that his bandana materialized in Agatha all the time final scene of episode 5. Anyway, Billy’s Wiccan attire appears to have an entirely magical origin, and he may be able to conjure it whenever he wishes.
Billy’s influence on the Road suggests that the design of his Wiccan clothing is also a product of his unconscious mind.
Agatha all the timeThe film’s two-episode finale reveals that Billy unconsciously engineered the Witch Road trials. Elements from her room, such as the Ouija board and the witch’s shoes, appeared within the Witch’s Road dimension as key elements throughout the journey. Billy’s influence on the Road suggests that the design of his Wiccan clothing is also a product of his unconscious mind. After all, the memories of Wanda, Vision and Tommy remained somewhere deep in his consciousness.
The only explanation I can find for the origin of the Wiccan costume
MCU wizards and witches may have the inherent ability to invent costumes
The way Billy’s Wiccan costume materializes on his body is very similar to how Wanda Maximoff gains her Scarlet Witch costume in the film. WandaVision end. In fact, Agatha Harkness herself regains her traditional purple cloak once she regains her powers at the end of Agatha all the time episode 8. Apparently magical characters are able to summon their magical clothes at any timethough they may be limited to the attire their own magic has designed for them. It is unknown if their costumes can be removed and stored like regular clothes.
Before the events of Avengers: Age of UltronWanda Maximoff found herself wearing her original Scarlet Witch costume when the Mind Stone awakened her Chaos magic. Wanda then conjured this exact costume while fighting Agatha Harkness in WandaVision the final battle of the finale. However, Wanda wore a different version of her Scarlet Witch costume in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Perhaps wizards and witches are able to change and upgrade their magical costumes when they are damaged. Consequently, the Wiccan may use slightly different variations of his Agatha all the time Wiccan costume in his upcoming MCU appearances.
