As Zenless Zero Zone continues, the gacha game may add another specialty or class in a few years. Without Zen was another huge success for HoyoVerse, combining fast-paced combat with the usual elemental gameplay. It has a more polished feel than Genshin Impact but it adds more impact to the user than Star Trail. This work has already had success, proven by large profits and two nominations at the Game Awards.
At the moment, Without Zen has five classes into which characters are divided. Attack and Anomaly are the main damage dealers that focus on different areas such as Without Zen Zero ZoneClutter damage. Meanwhile, Stun, Support, and Defense focus on debuffing the enemy while protecting or buffing DPS units. The last three have done an excellent job of being hybrid units that don't feel locked into one job.
HoYoverse will likely push for another class
A consistent trend
Based on how HoYoverse has handled its previous games, it will likely push for another class. The most obvious reason for this is money. When Genshin Impact launched Dendro and with Star Trail about to release the Path of Remembrance, they were/are likely released in a state of great strength. This desire to have the best of the best, especially considering the studio's track record with compelling characters, is a huge boost for the game.
The other side of the push is for a gameplay update. Dendro emerged when the same few teams were constantly used with little mixing. This powerful new element was incredibly synergistic with Pyro, Hydro, and Electro, giving the game a nice upgrade. Although it has not yet been released, the Path of Remembrance will likely be crucial to Honkai: star rail, given the way its content is often attuned to new characters. Regardless, it's always good to see a new style of combat.
What classes can come to the Zenless Zero Zone
Filling in the gaps
Based on experience with HoYoverse and what Without Zen is missing, there are two potential new classes. The first is a Healer. Currently, the only consistent way to heal characters in the game is with game mode pickups or buffs. However, a healer in Without Zen must be limited in the quantity and uses to which they can provide. Surviving is a fundamental part of this game's combat, and having characters that can simply heal all damage makes it trivial. The only caveat to this idea is that there may be future characters from current classes who have healing in their kit.
If Without Zen already adds a way Honkai: Star TrailFrom Pure Fiction or changes to a more quantity-focused combat experience, a class built specifically for this purpose would be a huge benefit.
The second class could be similar to the Path of Erudite Honkai: Star Trail. Characters in Without Zen they are good or bad and have a large number of enemies based on their kits. While most battles focus on a few weak enemies and one or two large ones, this may not be the case forever. If Without Zen already adds a way Honkai: Star Trailof Pure fiction or changes to a more quantity-focused combat experiencea class built specifically for this purpose would be a huge advantage.
The alternative to adding a new class would be to add a new Element. This wouldn't be as revolutionary as a new class, but it has positive sides. A new Element would likely mean new enemies weak to it and shake up gameplay. It would also come with a new elemental effect for Anomaly characters. Depending on how HoYoverse wants to move forward, this could be the most likely option, and while it wouldn't be as impactful, it would still be positive.
How a new class will affect the future of Zenless
An update and a rebirth
A new class arriving Zenless Zero Zone would have a ripple of likely effects. The obvious is the new team combinations this can bring. Whether it's a DPS or a support class, characters from the past can return to power or create unique new team compositions.. That's one thing Star Trail did much better than Genshin, where most of the older characters can still be used in some ways. Even before the release of the Path of Remembrance, Jing Yuan ascended to new power given his hybrid status with his summoning.
The second area of impact is gameplay. As mentioned earlier, a new class would likely have new mechanics or enemies to combat it or justify its creation. An example of this could be a new enemy type that deals damage through shields, meaning it would be better to have a Healer for that encounter. This creates a new type of experience while giving players a reason to have a wide range of Operators ready for battle.
Anything that moves Without Zen after a few years it would be an overall victory for the game. New updates are always welcome, but after years of the same core cycle, things can get a little tired. This is another feat Star Trail did better at adding consistent new game modes, and although Genshin has been better lately, desperately needed Dendro back in 3.0. Without Zen certainly follows Star Trailprogress instead of from Genshin, so that bodes well for the long-term health of the game.
Overall, although a new class, or Element, is likely to Without Zenit is completely unpredictable. Both previous games had signs and hints about its new inclusion, and Without Zen It's too early for that. Perhaps the only hint that can be understood is Miyabi and her double element, but this could be something unique or entirely different. These are the most likely reasons Zenless Zero Zone will add another class or element and its options.
