Why did “dry” save rain from certain death?
During Romulus‘ Finale, Rain and Andy work together to escape the Renaissance space station before it crashes. This involves a set piece where they ascend a large elevator shaft with Xenos in hot pursuit. Unfortunately for Rain, a gravity cleaning at the wrong moment causes her to fall down the shaft as Andy watches helplessly. After dropping for a few seconds, Rain is saved by the “dry” xenomorph, who wraps his tail around her and gently lifts her to a nearby ladder.
Of course, Rain is far from safe, with more Xenomorphs and Faceuggers climbing up to claim her. It’s only when Andi lowers the missing elevator car from above and crushes most of them that she gains breathing room. “Dry” remains, however, and Alien: Romulus Heroine soon discovers why the animal has become her unlikely savior.

If it wasn’t for Andy’s timely intervention with the pulse rifle, Rain would have been implanted with a Xeno embryo and probably died when the station crashed. Fortunately, Rain’s android brother was looking out for her from above, and Alien: Romulus‘ Main characters live to fight another day.
