Warning! This post contains spoilers for Apartment 7A.
Although Apartment 7a Adds some depth to Rosemary’s babys existing lore, it surprisingly cut one crucial scene from the original film. Set just a few months earlier Rosemary’s babyend, Apartment 7a Borrows many narrative ideas and thematic elements from its parent film. Since it unfolds in the same setting as its predecessor, it also marks the return of many of Rosemary’s babyS letters. However, despite presenting itself as a direct extension of the original movie world, Apartment 7a Unintentionally reconstitutes the story of the parent film in more ways than one.
Apartment 7a Offers new insights into the fate of several characters from the original film. For example, it not only discloses all the events that led to Terry’s death in Rosemary’s baby But also reveals what happened to Lily Gardenia. While it’s hard not to appreciate how it adds more emotional depth to the original movie’s story, the narrative inconsistencies with the 1968 film are disappointing.
Terry and Rosemary’s original movie scene doesn’t fit with the prequel’s new twists
The Development of the Story of Apartment 7 Retraces Rosemary’s Baby’s Key Moments
When Terry met Rosemary in Rosemary’s baby For the first time, Teri sings Rosemary’s praises about how the Castevets helped her get back on her feet. The two later meet again in the basement laundry room of the main apartment building, where Teri continues to talk about how much she appreciates the Castevets’ help. Terry’s admiration for the Castevets eventually plays a crucial role in convincing Rosemary that they are good people. Because of this, she trusts mine when they ask her to visit Dr. Spearstein, and doesn’t think twice about drinking and eating anything. J presents.

Funny, according to Apartment 7as timeline, Terri becomes increasingly suspicious of the castaways’ motives and starts to figure out what they want from her when Rosemary and Guy move to the building.. Because of this, it makes sense that she only has good things to say about the cult leader when she meets Rosemary. This narrative inconsistency in Apartment 7a Highlights that the prequel movie completely ignores Rosemary and Terry’s conversations from the original film.
The missing scene of Rosemary and Terry from Apartment 7A hurts the end of the prequel
The ending of the prequel seems inconsistent with the story of Rosemary’s Baby
Apartment 7a Features a mid-credits scene in which Guy and Rosemary talk to police officers. The scene is based on a moment of Rosemary’s babyWhere Rosemary tells police officers everything she knows about Terry. Her knowledge of Terry’s past and relationships is based on their interactions in the laundry room.

But, since Apartment 7a Completely ignores Terry and Rosemary’s laundry room meetings by not explaining why Terry would praise the castevets, it seems strange that it features the Guy and Rosemary cameo in its closing moments. The commas would have made more sense If the movie had taken the time to establish the depth of Rosemary and Terry’s relationship and revealed at least a small section of their previous interactions. Unfortunately, despite featuring some incredible performances, Apartment 7a is weighed down by many similar plot holes that Recon Rosemary’s babys history.
