Why aren’t Married At First Sight Season 18 experts stepping in to help David and Michelle? (They’re heading for disaster)

Married at first sight Season 18 couple David Trimble and Michelle Tomblin have been seriously struggling since the beginning and clearly need the experts’ help, so why haven’t the experts intervened? Married at first sight Season 18 currently has five episodes released. Viewers also got to know the cast through the “Matchmaking Special,” which aired before the season premiere. The cast of five couples includes David and MIchelle, Allen Slovick and Madison Myers, Karla J and Juan, Camille and Thomas, and Ikechi Ojoré and Emem Obot.

All five couples said yes at the altar to marrying a stranger and have been on their honeymoon in Mexico for several days. So far, David and Michelle have been the most plagued by discord, but several of the other couples’ cracks are starting to show. The honeymoon period is the time couples should have to get to know each other better and spend 24 hours a day, 7 days a week together. Experts don’t go on the honeymoon to make anything easier, but of course they must be present on the trip to help couples with initial difficulties.

Michelle has contempt for David

Michelle hates David’s living situation

Based on what they told the experts, David and Michelle are certain about each other’s body types. However, the disconnect was formed in Michelle’s disregard for David’s living situation. David lives in his parents’ basement apartment, where he helps them pay the mortgage, but he has his own entrance and means to leave whenever he wants. David likes to live multigenerationally and keeps his family together, but Michelle has shown no interest in understanding any of this.

She only focused on the optics of David’s situation and cast heavy shade on David over it (via Life.) Because of her disdain for David living at home, Michelle closed herself off and was extremely cold and moody towards David, who she said she doesn’t feel attracted after knowing about the living situation. Michelle has been selfish in the experience so far, and it has begun to take its toll on David, who has struggled to understand and provide comfort through explanations to his new wife.

Michelle and David are having communication problems

Michelle wants space

Aside from Michelle’s loss of attraction to David due to her living situation, the pair have faced miscommunications. David tried to talk to Michelle to get more perspective on his feelings and attitudes, but Michelle gave up his attempts.

She has told him multiple times that she needs space and that she would be happy not to talk to him for the rest of the day.

David called and texted Michelle during the time she wanted space, which left Michelle upset and resentful.

When the duo sat down after splitting up and speaking to the male group and female group respectively, Michelle told David to “back off”, which made David have to walk away and take a deep breath. He then told Michelle that he was the one who needed space in the future. The pair did not interact on the group’s boat trip and Michelle confided in producers that she was “turning off” and couldn’t answer why she wanted to get married in the first place.

Why aren’t experts doing their jobs?

They typically don’t help couples on their honeymoon

David and Michelle clearly need the experts to replace them before it’s too late. Having the producer’s help talks to Michelle about her feelings which didn’t help at alland something experts should be doing, even if it was remote. Without proper professional guidance, David and Michelle will continue to derail.

The honeymoon part has historically been an independent part of the experts’ experiment. However, in Married at first sight season 17, Dr. Pia and Pastor Cal talked to Orion Martzloff and Lauren Goodger as their marriage was falling apart on their honeymoon. Although it was too late in that situation, their advice could still help David and Michelle.

Experts should change their approach when letting couples go on their honeymoon because it only does them a disservice as many problems tend to arise in the early days of couples’ marriage.

THE Married at first sight experts need to be a part of honeymoon traps when it’s obvious a couple isn’t going to make it. David and Michelle are about to split up just days after the experiment begins, and this doesn’t reflect well on the experts’ choice to pair them up. If experts act to advise the pair, There may still be time for them to understand each other. With Michelle on the verge of quitting, experts need to be sensitive to timing, otherwise the season will move on to the next phase with just four couples.
