The golden bacheloretteThe final three were Chock Chapple, Pascal Ibgui and Guy Gansert, with Joan Vassis giving Chock her final rose (and her heart), but this trio of men is problematic and it’s time to decide whether they are worse than Gerry Turner. Yes, The Golden Bachelor former student Gerry was initially captivating. Sugar wouldn’t melt in the tanned, romantic protagonist’s mouth. However, before long it became clear that Gerry was all style and no substance.
Despite his declarations of love, Gerry couldn’t get far. As soon as he married Theresa Nist, the problems began. They couldn’t figure out where to live – a sort of national version of “your house or mine?” Neither of them relented, so they divorced. After the landslide victory, Gerry’s reputation was left in tatters. He was no longer the older man of viewers’ dreams. When he rubbed his happiness in Theresa’s face after their breakup by wearing a crude but funny “Indiana…it’s not that bad” t-shirt, the die was cast. He was a villain who posed as a knight in shining armor.
Joan Vassos’s last three might be worse than Gerry
All these men seem troubled
Yes, Chock seems to please Joan… for now. However, although they are engaged, he shows signs of being a controlling person. During a group bowling date, he stuck like glue to the agile blonde, cruelly blocking his rivals. As he marked his territory, he seemed a little unsure. What people hold on to so tightly, they are often destined to lose. When a person can be themselves and decide exactly what they want, free from pressure or manipulation, they can truly listen to their heart. So in the future, Chock may seem very possessive of his sensitive companion.
With Pascal, there’s the whole stalker scandal. He compared Chock to the types of creeps who harass and terrorize women. Chock isn’t really on that level. He just sees a goal and moves towards it in a very direct way. While Chock can indeed be very controlling, he is not the total pain in the ass that Pascal says he is.
With Guy, the water is murky and it’s hard to tell exactly what’s underneath. On the surface, he’s an emergency room doctor who saved lives. He is a loving father. However, there’s all that restraining order drama. His ex-wife shot him because she was afraid of him. During that dark phase, he allegedly threatened her, acting more like a stalker than Chock ever did.
As is clear, these three men have real problems, while Gerry simply couldn’t bring himself to move on. He teased Theresa in a light-hearted way, but he didn’t lower himself too much. In the future, fans of The golden bachelorette and the OG spin-off, The Golden BachelorYou may find that Gerry looks like an angel in comparison. He moved on without excessive bitterness. Would Chock do the same, if and when? Maybe not.
