The end of Arcane season two, Act 2, had several major developments, from proving that Vander was transformed into Warwick to showing Jayce killing Viktor, but Singed also had a lot to live up to in the new batch of episodes. Along with his expanded role and screen time, Singed also had some major revelations about his backstory and origins.
Singed is one of several League of Legends characters appearing in Arcanebut he is somewhat special among the rest. Singed was one of the first League of Legends champions already projected, but your Arcane the counterpart has not yet lived up to his in-game personality. Arcane However, the second season, Act 2, brought it significantly closer and also filled in some of the game’s gaps surrounding Singed and his backstory. Here’s everything you need to know about Singed, from his role in Arcane to how dangerous he is to Piltover and all of Runeterra.
Singed’s role in Arcane, explained
Singed is a mad scientist who uses anyone he can for his experiments
Singed is one of the original characters from Arcaneand one of the few remaining Zaunites who made their first appearance in the series premiere. As such, it has quite an extensive history. Chronologically, one of the first things Singed did in Arcane The first season introduced Viktor to his personal project, a mutant axolotl named Rio. Singed appears to have used Rio’s mutation to later create Shimmer, the drug Silco used to take over the Underground and transform ordinary people into enormous monsters.. Your burning (or singed) appearance is due to the Powder explosion caused in the cannery, which ignited Singed’s Shimmer supply.
Throughout all of his experiments, Singed also experimented on Vander, and eventually transformed him into the werewolf-like creature, Warwick.
Years later, Singed played a key role in some other Arcane characters’ stories. After his battle with Ekko on the bridge, Silco brought a badly injured Jinx to Singed and demanded that he heal her.. Singed did this, but used a variant of Shimmer that gave Jinx her glowing red eyes and increased speed. He also spoke to Viktor, his former apprentice, and gave him the Shimmer he needed for his body to resist the Hex Core’s healing, which transformed Viktor into the Machine Herald. Throughout all of his experiments, Singed also experimented on Vander, and eventually transformed him into the werewolf-like creature, Warwick.
Sung in League of Legends, explained
Singed is a tank champion described as “The Mad Chemist” in League Of Legends
In League of Legendswhich is defined after Arcane in their shared timeline, Singed is known as “the Mad Chemist”. Just like his character in the series, Singed was obsessed with unethical experiments and would do anything to advance his research.. Along with creating Warwick, Singed also captured several pairs of people, such as Hadri Spillwether and Palo, in a series of experiments that attempted to connect their minds. Most of his test subjects died agonizing deaths. For Singed, the entire world was supposed to facilitate his experiments, and their suffering meant nothing to him.
In League of LegendsSinged is a tank character who carries a huge shield and a tank of chemicals on his back. As “the Mad Chemist”, most of Singed’s abilities revolve around his chemical weaponry and experiments. One of Singed’s abilities in League of LegendsPoison Trail, leaves a cloud of noxious gas behind it and damages any enemy that breathes the gas. Another, Mega Sticker, sees Singed throw some sort of superglue substance to slow down his enemies, while the Insanity Potion gives Singed increased damage and speed. It’s quite clear to see how Singed’s abilities in the game influenced his role in the Arcane.
Arcane delves deeper into the origins of Singed
Singed was formerly Dr. Reveck and his experiments are trying to save his daughter
In addition to some notes on Singed’s time at Piltover Academy and his criticism of Hextec, which led to his expulsion, League of Legends didn’t delve too deeply into its origins. Arcanehowever, he spent much more time investigating the man Singed was before he became a mad chemist. Arcane revealed that Singed was once known as Dr. Reveck and that he conducted all of his experiments to save his daughter’s life. He also made alliances with Silco and Ambessa specifically to ensure he could have the funding and resources necessary to keep her alive and try to cure her.
How Singed Became One of Arcane’s Most Dangerous Wildcards
Singed’s research could create devastating weapons and he is willing to give them to anyone
Singed’s experiments didn’t just directly affect the characters of Arcanehowever, he changed the entire world of Runeterra. Singed not only created Warwick, a beast he described as “Apex Shimmer,” but also offered him to the Noxians and made an alliance with Ambessa. If the Noxians, especially a warmonger like Ambessa, can get Warwick and Singed’s research into creating more beasts like him, they will be able to take over all of Runeterra.. Singed is by far the deadliest genius in the world. Arcanesimply by virtue of how profoundly their creations could change the world for the worse.
Singed is by far the deadliest genius in Arcane, simply by virtue of how completely his creations could change the world for the worse.
Singed’s relationship with Ambessa and the Noxians also proves another deadly part of the Mad Scientist: he is capable of anything. He will work with anyone who can let him continue his research and get closer to saving his daughter, and he doesn’t care what he has to burn to make that happen. Additionally, if Singed survives Arcane Season 2, his willingness to work with foreign nations means he could appear in an upcoming League of Legends show, a set away from Piltover. Depending on how everything turns out, Singed could be one of the most important people in Runeterra for a long time.
Beyond the possible future League of Legends spinoffs, Singed will likely still have a major role to play Arcane season 2, Act 3. There’s no telling if Vander survived Isha’s sacrifice, but if he did, Singed will likely turn him into a war beast for Ambessa. If he were to die, Singed could still use his talents for the Noxians, creating another Warwick or creating some of the poisonous chemical weapons he uses on League of Legends. No matter what happens, Singed will likely continue to be an important player in the Arcane and League of Legends.
