Although Bobby Trey is not the main villain of Cross In the first season, he plays a crucial role in helping the central serial killer carry out his murderous plan. Despite being based on the book by James Patterson, Alex Cruz books, Amazon Prime Video’s Cross significantly alters the original stories of its source material. It borrows some characters from the original books and accurately portrays how the author describes the titular detective character. All over CrossDuring the execution, Bobby Trey even resorts to extreme methods and kills at least two individuals to ensure that his powerful client gets away with his murders.

Bobby Trey is portrayed as one of Ed Ramsey’s greatest allies in Cross season 1. Not only does he help Ramsey carry out his murders because the killer has dirt on him, but also because he promises a considerable sum. To ensure Ramsey doesn’t get caught, Bobby Trey keeps an eye on all the cops in the police department, especially Alex Cross. This gives Ed Ramsey a significant advantage, allowing him to throw caution to the wind while staying one step ahead of law enforcers.
Almost halfway through the show, Alex Cross and his team find enough evidence to investigate Ed Ramsey’s house. Fortunately for Ramsey, Bobby Trey carefully tracks Alex Cross’s every move and escorts Ramsey’s latest victim, Shannon, out of the house to make sure Cross and his team don’t rescue her. Bobby Trey even kills a woman who has a voice note to prove that Ed Ramsey killed Emir Goodspeed. During his immoral searches, Trey also ends up getting shot by the police, but still manages to survive and finally receives an intriguing offer from Kayla Craig.

After Ed Ramsey was arrested in Cross In the final arc of Season 1, Bobby Trey doesn’t receive the big payday the killer promised him. Luckily for Bobby, Kayla Craig approaches him Cross Season 1 mid-credits scene where she makes him an offer. In the direction Cross In the final moments of the first season, the police department realizes that Ed Ramsey wants to be convicted of killing 11 people because he believes it will make him famous, allowing him to gain recognition as one of the most notorious serial killers in history.

Therefore, to ensure he doesn’t get what he wants, Alex Cross and his fellow officers burn Ed Ramsey’s scrapbook to bury all the evidence surrounding his crimes and only frame him for Emir’s murder and the attempted murder of Shannon. However, this poses a major challenge: the families of Ed Ramsey’s other victims are waiting for answers and the police force does not intend to keep them in the dark. Due to this, Kayla Craig tries to convince Bobby Trey to confess to Ed Ramey’s other murders and come forward with concrete information about at least six of his previous victims.

In exchange, Kayla promises him full immunity and only a 24-month sentence. Realizing that Alex Cross will eventually find evidence of his two murders, Bobby asks Kayla to give him the offer in writing and accepts it. Before Cross The first season ends, Kayla Craig extends the deal, asking him to give her access to all the compromising information that Ed Ramsey had about powerful people. When she offers him a good amount of money and assures him that there isn’t much he can do with the information alone, Bobby appears to accept her final deal.
