Where is Fiyero going at the end of Wicked

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Wicked: Part 1 and Wicked the Broadway musical. The first installment of the two-part film adaptation of Evil sees a dramatic end for Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), Glinda (Ariana Grande-Butera) and Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) – with two of those three leaving on an unclear mission. As Evil Following the friendship between the future Wicked With of the West and Glinda the Good Witch, things get complicated when they fall in love with the same man. Fiyero joins Elphaba and Glinda at Shiz University sometime after the official start of the semester and begins a relationship with the then Galinda, later realizing his feelings for Elphaba.

The situation becomes more complicated in Evilends when Elphaba and Glinda’s trip to the Emerald City goes disastrously wrong. When Elphaba is declared a fugitive and threatened by Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh) for opposing the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum), the news is heard via radio in Shiz. While Elphaba runs away and Glinda stays behind to make peace with the Wizard, Fiyero leaves Shiz. When the sequence cuts to the supporting characters in Evilcast, Fiyero is seen looking worried in Shiz’s courtyard, then riding through the front gate.

The Wicked Musical Won’t Confirm Where Fiyero Is Going

Fiyero leaves school and the source material tells us nothing about it

The Broadway show, as it is staged, does not allow for this cut into what Fiyero, Nessarose (Marissa Bode) and Boq (Ethan Slater) are doing during “Defying Gravity.” Therefore, it offers no insight into the direction Fiyero is taking immediately after Elphaba’s escape in the film. After saying goodbye to Elphaba and Glinda before they leave for the Emerald City, Fiyero is only seen after the time jump that happens between the first and second acts, when Glinda announces her engagement.

Glinda likely returns to Shiz during this period to train as a sorceress with Madame Morrible, when that is still her ambition. She, Fiyero, Nessarose and Boq would logically finish their studies. However, wanting to act as soon as Elphaba is threatened is in line with Fiyero’s characterization. After Elphaba and Glinda wish each other good luck in “Defying Gravity”, Glinda is able to live her life as she would like. However, she also ignores Fiyero’s feelings for her best friend and why he immediately ran away because of her.

Fiyero will likely try to find Elphaba at the end of Wicked

Fiyero will do anything for Elphaba and finding her is first on his list

Therefore, Fiyero’s first instinct upon hearing the news about Elphaba is to try to find and protect her. When he leaves Shiz, he is probably embarking on a search for her. Elphaba suggests that she’s heading to Western Oz in the lyrics of “Defying Gravity” – hence the title Wicked Witch of the West – giving Fiyero at least some indication of where to start looking. Fiyero’s homeland, Winkie Country, also constitutes the western region of Oz, perhaps leading him to believe that he will be able to find it once he gets to know the territory well.

After rushing to the last place he knows they both were, Fiyero would only find an emotionally shaken Glinda, with Elphaba already missing.

Fiyero may also be beginning his search in the Emerald City (Morrible doesn’t say that Elphaba is in the West in its announcement). After rushing to the last place he knows they both were, Fiyero would only find an emotionally shaken Glinda, with Elphaba already gone. However, Fiyero may return to Winkie Country instead of Shiz. If Shiz is the equivalent of college in this environment, there is no need for him to attend. very indifferent to always being expelled from school, perhaps only enrolling repeatedly at his family’s insistence.

How Fiyero leaving Shiz sets up his perversity: part two of the story

Fiyero becomes captain of the guard and never gives up on finding Elphaba

Fiyero’s departure from Shiz is a natural continuation of how he is portrayed in the second act of the musical, with a more action-packed role. Regardless of what he did in between, Fiyero becomes the Captain of the Wizard’s Guard, while Glinda is the spokesperson. He uses his position to continue searching for Elphaba — under the guise of wanting to arrest her in the Wizard’s name, but really wanting to protect her — but has had little success. It is implied that neither Glinda nor Fiyero have seen Elphaba since the events depicted in the film.

Ultimately, Fiyero fights for Elphaba, no matter the cost. THE Evil the film makes Fiyero seem more competent, being a future soldier, at the beginning of the story, with him arriving at Shiz alone on horseback and not by carriage – Bailey bringing his Bridgerton horse to Evil. Although Fiyero lets his relationship with Glinda last too long, he proves that Elphaba is his priority, making it his mission to find her from the day she disappears.
