Sang-u and Do-jae apparently go back in time
As Hoo-jee and Sa-eon's affection grows deeper and deeper, Sang-u and Yu-ri team up for a concert and investigate Sang-u's past. While investigating Sang-u's early years in an orphanage, they discover a photo that includes a pair of twins. Sang-u remembers that one of the twin brothers suddenly disappeared. He also remembers encountering a violent child during his stay at the orphanage who brutally mutilated a cat. A flashback in episode 5 also reveals that Sa-eon's mother locked the same child inside his room after realizing he was mutilating the fish in his aquarium.
Previous episodes of When the phone rings also suggested that Sa-eon is not who he claims to be and has adopted someone else's name. All of these details make it difficult not to theorize that the real Sa-eon, whose name Yoo Yeon-seok's character adopted, was likely the killer of Do-jae's brother at the orphanage, explaining why the twin disappeared. As Do-jae believes that Yoo Yeon-seok's character is the real Sa-eon, he is determined to seek revenge and hurt him by harming Hoo-jee.
