The Wheel of Time season 3 is on the horizon, with new episodes confirmed for release on Prime Video on March 13, 2025. This epic fantasy drama has been a mainstay of Prime's speculative fiction content since its debut in 2021, and much of it it's thanks to the source material. The original books by Robert Jordan, comprising fourteen novels in total and a prequel, have been highly influential in fantasy spheres, and it has been important for the series to be as accurate as possible to please critics and fans alike.
The events of the book in The Wheel of Time The third season was teased in the recently released trailer and it looks like some big changes have been made. Change is necessary for a book-to-screen adaptation, especially when there is so much ground to cover, especially in an epic saga like The Wheel of Time. While the television format allows more individual stories to come to life and helps mitigate character omissions, it's not always perfect. Since The Wheel of Time appears to be accelerating adaptation, there will be some cuts next season.
Wheel Of Time Season 3 Story Is Bad News For Juilin Sandar And Berelain's TV Show Debut
These two characters may not appear in season 3
The Wheel of Time the third season will mainly focus on the events of The shadow rising, the fourth book in the series, skipping the third book, The Dragon Reborn. One of the biggest impulses The Dragon Reborn involves the characters traveling to Tear, a period in which Rand travels alone, and many of the younger Aes Sedai return to Tar Valon initially, and Juilin Carridin and Berelain are introduced. There's a lot of great beats in The Dragon Reborn that the show would have to be reworked to fit into the next season.
Already, The Wheel of Time It's a huge show, and it's conceivable that the series could cut these characters without losing plot points to include them in the story.
Others are missing Wheel of Time Book characters confirmed to join the series later, such as Cadsuane Melaidhrin and Jaichim Carridin. However, It is not yet known how Juilin or Berelain could be part of the series without the characters traveling to Tear. Already, The Wheel of Time It's a huge show, and it's conceivable that the series could cut these characters without losing plot points to include them in the story. However, there are some great moments that would be missed.

How the Wheel of Time Can Easily Keep Juilin Sandar (Without Tearing)
He is a character that can be translated to other environments
Of the two characters that mark the protagonists of Tear, Juilin could easily be kept in the series. Although he is canonically from Tear, he doesn't have many major ties to the setting. that would make it impossible for him to be from somewhere else. If the series kept him and had him originate from Tanchico, it wouldn't alter his story too much and would allow him to be on the show. As Juilin is supposed to know Elayne and Nynaeve separately, it follows that he could be from there within the series' canon.
Since it looks like Tear's mission will be completely cut short, it would be a shame to lose Juilin just because this arc is when he is introduced to the characters and the audience for the first time. In the series, Juilin does not have the biggest role in The Dragon Rebornbut there are some moments of character development that couldn't happen without him. Finding a way to maintain Juilin without complicating the schedule too much would allow The Wheel of Time hit all your marks and incorporate a fun new character into the story.
Why Berelain is more likely to be cut than Juilin Sandar
It doesn't play such an important role
Unlike Juilin, a thief hunter who ends up betraying Elayne and Nynaeve and then redeeming himself, Berelain does not arouse as much empathy or interest in the viewer. A big part of her characterization is the fact that she's from Mayene, which borders Tear, so having her from somewhere else wouldn't make sense for her character. Additionally, most of Berelain's actions in the narrative revolve around her attempts to seduce Perrin, resulting in the development of a love triangle between her, Perrin, and Faile. Overall, this dramatic angle is a bit pointless and doesn't elevate any plot points.
However The Wheel of Time Season 3 could have taken its time and included Berelain and Juilin, if the series has to choose a character, they should bring Juilin to life. It had a richer development and has an interesting dynamic with the main characters. On the other hand, Berelain is treated as an afterthought by both the book and the other characters. Even though The Wheel of Time was adapting The Dragon Rebornthe TV show would have to think of additional storylines for Berelain.
