Although Bernard has always shown himself to be more informed than Sims, Silo season two is focusing on this specific aspect of their relationship. In addition to seeking help from his former shadow, Judge Meadows (Tanya Moodie), Bernard has also yet to reveal to Sims the true story behind how Juliette survived being sent outside to clean up. As Silo As season two progresses, the tension, lies and half-truths are sure to increase.
As mayor of Silo 18, Bernard has a huge responsibility on his shoulders. After seeing with his own eyes the macabre images from Juliette’s camera – another thing he hid from Sims – Robbins’ character is determined to prevent another rebellion from breaking out. This already seems like a huge task, but coupled with the fact that Bernard doesn’t seem to trust anyone other than Meadows, his goal suddenly seems even more difficult to achieve.

It is revealed in “Order” that Judge Meadows is the only other character to have visited the Silo 18 vault besides the current mayor. So that makes her Bernard’s safest bet when he wants ideas on how to keep his secrets safe and avoid an uprising. After witnessing firsthand what happened when Juliette discovered more than she should haveIt’s understandable that Bernard would want to keep everything strictly on a need-to-know basis. By widening the circle to include Sims, the risk of a rebellion in Silo season 2 grows even more.
