My Hero Academia: You’re Next It takes place immediately after Episode 4 of Season 7, which added a non-manga scene in which Class 1-A is divided into three teams: one led by Bakugou, one led by Deku, and one led by Shoto. At the beginning of the film, the students are still divided into these teams and spend most of the film apart. In the context of the anime series, the film takes place immediately after Aoyama is identified as a traitor to UA (meaning Aoyama is not involved in the film) and during the week during which Shigaraki recovers from his battle with Star and Stripes.
There are several original characters in the film, but some are significantly more prominent than others.. First up is Anna Scervino, a young woman with blonde hair who is seen being held captive by the villains for most of the film. She has an extremely powerful quirk that the villains have gone to great lengths to obtain. Next up is Giulio Gandini, a mysterious figure who seems to be stalking Anna but is not working for the villains. Giulio has a motorcycle, as well as prosthetic limbs, which include weapons. He has some kind of relationship with Anna, although what exactly will become clear later.

Finally, there is the big bad, the Dark Might. Dark Power, as you might guess, is a fictional identity that he assumes throughout the film. He looks and sounds just like All Might in his muscular form, but is actually a separate character. Dark Might does not act alone; he has several minions working for him, each of whom has his own powerful quirk. The nature of the Dark Might quirk remains a mystery for most of the film.
