Dragon Ball Daima will be taking a brief hiatus to start the new year, but fans needn't worry as the hit series will return soon. The hiatus mainly affects episode 13, “Surprise”, which should mark the beginning of a new phase in the story.

According to TV Guide Japan, Dragon Ball Daima will release the week of January 3, 2025, meaning there will be no new episode that Friday. Instead of, fans will be able to watch the new episode of Daima on January 10, 2025resuming with episode 13. The purpose of these short breaks appears to be strictly in recognition of the start of the new year, and some other shows currently on the air are also taking time off this week, such as Pokémon Horizons. Coincidentally, January 10, 2025 will also be when the English dubbed versions of Daima start rolling out on Crunchyroll.

Daima's storyline is ready for the next phase

In episode #12 of Dragon Ball Daimatitled "True Strength", Vegeta managed to defeat Tamagami Number Two using the Super Saiyan 3 transformation for the first time on screen, while Majin Duu scored a surprise victory against Tamagami Number One. As a result, Vegeta was awarded the two-star Demon Realm Dragon Ball, while Majin Duu received the one-star Demon Realm Dragon Ball, meaning that all Tamagami were defeated at this point in the story.. With all the Dragon Balls in play, the story seems ready to move on to the next stage.

The direction of the story from here should be quite interesting. Arinsu will clearly be after the other two Dragon Balls that Goku's group has, and she has a double agent working for her in the form of Glorio. With Majin Kuu and Majin Duu serving under her command, Arinsu could be a serious problem for Goku's group to deal with, and she has effectively usurped Gomah as the main threat in this world. One thing is certain: Goku and friends' next destination will be the First Demon World, and this puts them directly against Arinsu and Gomah.

What could happen in Daima episode 13?

Episode #13 of Dragon Ball Daima It seems strange, based on the preview seen at the end of episode 12. Goku is shown sliding down a huge thorny vine, dodging attacks from some kind of large orange creature, and finally running away from what appears to be a bunch of huge guinea pigs with red eyes.. It seems that wherever Goku's group goes, there is some truly enormous wildlife to deal with, and they have just escaped the enormous Krakens of the Second Demon World.

Arinsu is also shown briefly, gloating over the one-star Dragon Ball, seemingly deciding his next move. Arinsu is not aware of the Namekian password on the Dragon Balls, however, so she may not realize how difficult it will be to use them. Whatever the case, Dragon Ball Daima will certainly pick up after the break from an interesting position as the story moves in an entirely new direction.
