There are clothes available in almost every theme imaginable, from Disney (of course) to elements, seasons, animals, locations and even historical eras. In addition to the wide variety of options to choose from, the title also allows players to design their own clothes.

    The ability to design and decorate clothes and furniture is called Magic Touch, and the feature is available as soon as players start the game. As players progress through the game, they will unlock more customizable items and ways to change them to make clothes reflect players' style as best as possible. Touch of Magic customization is easy to use but difficult to master, and it opens up even more opportunities for players who want to create their own in-game outfits.

    Dreamlight Valley starts with lots of customization options

    Personalization of clothes and furniture in Valley of the Light of Dreams It's easy since it's literally the first option displayed in the inventory. To access the Touch of Magic clothing menu, players must open their inventory, go to “Wardrobe” or “Furniture” and choose “Customize.” Clicking "Add New" will reveal all the different options available for customization.

    There are 18 pieces of clothing that can be customized on the spot, and they all start as blank models. Customizable clothing items are:

    Magic Touch Items in Disney Dreamlight Valley start as blank canvases and players can change their color from a menu. In addition to the color options, The game's designs rely on sticker-like decals called "Motifs" that players can wear whatever they want to customize.

    There is no way to do freehand drawings in ToM, so the essence of the design process depends on the use of motifs. When players start designing, they have access to 90 motifs by default. They span different categories and franchises and include themes like animals, shapes, nature, food, villains, magic, and so on. More motifs can be unlocked by opening yellow loot bags, completing certain quests, or earning them as rewards in Star Paths.

    Each custom design can have up to 50 layers, and each layer contains a motif. Once a sticker is added to a design, be it clothing or a piece of furniture, it can be modified. Players can make decals larger or smaller, rotate them, add a mirror image of them, duplicate them in a repeating pattern, and more. Since each sticker is on a separate layer, it is very easy to modify and delete individual stickers at a time.

    Many Valley of the Light of Dreams Touch of Magic designers have learned how to be crafty with motifs and press them to be applied in unique ways. Done like this, ToM tools can be used to transform stickers into virtually any design, from lace and cutouts to entire works of art on clothing furniture.

    The Limitations of Touch Of Magic in Dreamlight Valley

    As versatile and fun as they are, Touch of Magic designs have their limits. One of these limits, mentioned earlier, is the inability to create freehand designs (although this is probably done to keep things family friendly and avoid mischief). Another important limitation is not being allowed to use ToM magic items in Dreamsnapswhich are weekly photo contests. This helps everyone be on a level playing field when competing. Even having an item in the background that has been modified with Touch of Magic will prevent the dream snap from being sent.
