Warning! Spoilers for Netflix Ugly and Scott Westerfeld nice And Special.
Netflix Ugly is based on the first in a book series by author Scott Westerfeld – so what’s next for Tally in the sequel, nice? Ugly The ending left the door open for another movie, so it sure seems like a nice Adaptation is part of Netflix’s plan. Of course, the Ugly The movie was a little different from the book, so there will be more differences in the future. Regardless, we can assume that Tally’s story will continue in much the same way, from her time in New Fair Town to her daring escape and impending boyhood troubles.
at the end of UglyTally Youngblood surrenders to Dr. Cable To be brought back to the city and made beautiful. She did this to provide David’s mother, Maddie, with a test subject for her cure, which is meant to remove the brain lesions that keep Pretties from being combative, creative or original. The last scene of the Netflix sci-fi movie reveals that Tally got her wish. She was seen walking through her beautiful new apartment in New Beautiful Town, with a beautiful face, but with an ugly scar that reminds her who she really is – what’s next?
Paris is still alive in the Pretties Book
He did not become a special or fell from a lady in disgust
First, it is important to do what will most certainly not be the same between a potential nice Movie and the book. In Netflix UglyParis was transformed into a special, ultimately leading to his falling off the edge of a dam to his presumed death. None of this happened in Westerfeld’s book, where Ferris remained happily in New Fair Town after Dr. Cable used him to convince Tally to play her spy. In fact, he is not present in Ugly Again from that point on, only made his reappearance in nice.
So, although Paris was present throughout the story in the second book, this may not be the case in the movie. Of course, given Special Paris’s ambiguous ending, it is certainly possible that he will make a return. Specials are almost indestructible in these Ugly books, so he may have a part to play in Netflix’s next movie—though he’s unlikely to be among Tally’s beautiful friends as in the book.
Tally lives in New Beautiful City with Shay
Tally and Shay returned to being best friends
The end of Ugly took a look at Tally’s life in New Beautiful Town, and a nice Movie is sure to take this much further. In the book, Tally has basically forgotten everything that happened at the smoke, thanks to the lesions placed in her mind during the beautiful operation. She and Shay live in the same building and Spend much of their time together drinking champagne, talking about what surge they will get next (Shay gets back clock faces implanted with jewels in her eyeballs), and considers what to wear to their next big party.
However, while Tally is trying her best to fit in with the other mindless pretties, she knows something isn’t quite right. The lessons (which she had completely forgotten) did not seem to have erased her anxiety and social anxiety, and Talley found herself saying the wrong thing at every turn. Shay and Paris, the perfect bobbleheads, are endlessly patient with her, and assure Tally that she will relax more once she is accepted by the best clique in New Fair Town – the Crims.
Tally joins the Crimes
Tally joins a group of beautiful “criminals”
nice Pick up with Tally trying to figure out what to wear to a very important party. The event is where she will be accepted or rejected by the creams; A clique that consisted of pretty people who had a lot of trouble in their ugly days. Naturally, Tally easily qualified (especially after once again launching himself from a balcony with a bungee jacket). However, Tally’s hopes that she would be able to finally fit in with the pretties after joining a clique are dashed when hCrimea’s leader, Zane, begins to push her to think beyond her beauty.
While Zane didn’t know about the lesions, he figured there was something wrong with the Pretties’ minds. He realized that breaking the rules and taking risks (along with avoiding alcohol, eating very little, and overindulging in caffeine) helped his mind work better, which is why he founded a clique based on these types of activities. After accepting Tally into the group, Zane suspects there may be more to her story. so, He pushes her to remember her time in the smoke and what happened to her operation.
Zane & Tally discover the cure hidden by Smokey
Croy hid the cure in a place that was hard to find
Thanks to Zane (and his kisses), Tally begins to remember David, although she can’t remember what happened to him or how she ended up in New Beautiful Town. However, Zane’s pushing leads her to remember Croy’s clue about something hidden in the city that she must find. The process of getting this mysterious number takes the couple to the top of a signal tower, and Climbing so high causes both to temporarily think and see clearly, even with the lesions. When they finally get Croy’s package, it’s with thoroughly unkind minds.

Shea found a way to break out of her beautiful mind
Since Tally and Zane have no more pills to give their beautiful friends in niceThey do all they can to get the creams’ adrenaline pumping, then temporarily clear their heads. They pull pranks, such as smashing the ice on a floating ice skating rink, causing everyone to fall through (with bungee jackets on, of course), which effectively gets their hearts pounding and minds working. This is so effective that Shi slowly begins to remember just how angry she was at Tally before she was forced to become beautiful.. So, the ugly conflict returned to their beautiful friendship.
After fighting with Tally, Shay disappears for a while, and when she finally turns back in niceIt’s pretty disturbing. Enraged that Tally shared the cure with Zane rather than her, even after her betrayal in the smoke, Shay discovers her own way to put an end to her beautiful headiness. She starts a group called The cutters, who all get together to ritualistically cut their arms in order to force their brains to work clearly. Disturbed, Tally decides that they can’t wait any longer to escape New Beautiful Town – they must find a way to get to the New Smoke and get more pills to the Pretties.
The creams make a great escape from New Beautiful Town
Tally & Zane needed a complicated escape plan
Escape the city in nice Is not as easy as it was in Ugly. Rather than interface rings that can be quickly removed, Tally and Zane are equipped with tight bracelets that track their movements and cannot be removed (After their adventure climbing the tower to find the cure). Together they decided that the only way to destroy the caps would be to heat them with enough heat that they would expand and die. Let him sleep. They finally steal high-tech, fire-resistant gloves that can slip under the cuffs, high-jack hot air balloons and stick their hands right into the flames.
With hoverboards in tow, Tally, Zan and the other crims (minus Shay and her cutters) escape the city in the hot air balloons, from which they jump out with their boards once they are a safe distance away.

When Tally is reunited with David, she has all her memories of her time in the smoke – including her brief romance with the ugly boy. Despite this, Tally is still upset that David never came for her as he promised at the end of the episode Ugly Book and movie. Instead, it was Croy who brought the cure to New Fair Town. David explains that he wanted to release the pills but that the heat on the new smoke is simply too intense. The two make awkward amends and travel from the Rusty Ruins to the New Smoke.
Tally discovers that she never really had the cure
Tally didn’t have the cure, and Zane got brain damage
Tally is eager to be reunited with Zane after their time apart, but she is devastated to learn that he is not doing well in her absence. Since taking the cure, Zane has experienced headachesWhat happened with each passing day, as with each passing day, was worse with each passing day. That’s part of why it was so urgent that he and Tally get to the New Smoke, so Maddie could check out what was wrong. David’s mother immediately knew why Zane was suffering when the boy told her that he and Tally had shared the pills – that’s how people were never supposed to take the medicine.
David’s mother immediately knew why Zane was suffering when the boy told her that he and Tally had shared the pills – that’s how people were never meant to take the medicine.
After arriving at the New Smoke, Tally learns that one of the pills she and Zane took contained nanos meant to eat away the beautiful lesions, while The other pill was intended to top off the nanos before they continued to chomp on the rest of the brain. Tally took the second one, which had no effect on him. His, on the other hand, took the first. The nanos did a lot of damage to his brain, which Maddy did her best to reverse. However, the boy’s motor function would never be the same.
The news is devastating to Tally, who feels immense guilt that she shared the pills with Zane and, therefore, caused the damage. Of course, this also means that Tally never actually took the cure. She used her own will to think her way past the lesion, proving that her mind was simply too powerful to control. Still, Tally didn’t have much time to think about it since it was finally discovered that Zane has a transmitter embedded in his jaw Which alerts Dr. Cable about his location. The Ugly Villain let them escape from New Beautiful Town so she could find the New Smoke.
Shea reappears as a special and rally is taken back to the city
The end of Ugly set up Tally’s next big transformation
David, Maddie and the rest of the New Smoke escape before Special Circumstances arrives, but Zane’s weakened condition means he is unable to follow. Tally stubbornly decided to stay by his side, much to David’s frustration. However, she is surprised to see that Dr. Cable did not come alone. She brought Shai with her, who was a newly appeared specialAlong with the rest of her crew. Shay, loving her new power and clarity, tells Tally that her destiny is not to be made into a bobblehead again. Instead, she would become what all pretties who think their way through the lessons become – special.
It’s on the cliffhanger that nice ends Just like Ugly Ends with Tally demanding that Dr. Cable make her beautiful, nice Ends with Shay telling Tally she’s going to be special. Exactly, The third book in the Ugly Series is called Specialand sees Tali Youngblood once again undergo an extreme transformation. Of course, the changes in Netflix UglyEspecially the revelation that Paris became a special would make a movie adaptation of the Drakequel a bit more challenging to pull off. Still, there is plenty of room for a nice Movie to become a reality.
