Outlander season 7 part 2 is on the way, with episode 9 continuing the story of Claire and Jamie as they return to Scotland and beyond. Audiences have been waiting for this next chapter for over a year since Outlander Season 7 Part 1 ended with its final episode in August 2023. Now the various delays have been resolved and it’s time to get back to the time travel fantasy romance – with eight episodes left in season 7 before Outlander comes to an end with the 8th season.
Back Outlander season 7, part 1, Claire and Jamie were all tied up in the early stages of the Revolutionary Warmaking the planned visit to Scotland impossible. Claire was arrested for murder and released and spent fear-filled nights caring for injured soldiers. Jamie has ended up on the opposite side of the war from his Redcoat son, William, who still knows nothing about his true parentage. Then, in the 20th century, Brianna and Roger had disasters of their own, when Jemmy was kidnapped and apparently taken through the rocks. So when can we find out what happens next?

What to expect from Outlander season 7, part 2 premiere
It’s time to return to Scotland and the past
The end of Outlander season 7 part 1 saw Claire, Jamie and Ian arrive in Scotland in the 18th century, while Roger and Buck crossed the stones into the 20th century to find Jemmy. It’s the perfect setting for a new adventure, and the trailer for Outlander season 7 part 2 provides a teaser of what’s to come. It has been many years since Jamie and Claire saw their loved ones at Lallybrochand Ian’s reunion with his mother, Jenny, is sure to be emotional as well. However, it probably won’t be long before disaster strikes, as Claire is doomed to be called back to the American colonies to help Lord John Gray (as only a surgeon like Claire can).
As for Roger and Buck, the trailer for Outlander season 7 part 2 teases that the standing stones will take them to a different point in time than Claire and Jamie’s present. There will be some surprise characters returning in the upcoming episodes, although it is currently unclear whether they will appear in episode 9 or beyond. Regardless, we can certainly expect a lot of excitement between now and January 2025, as Outlander brings its great stories to the screen.
