At New York Comic Con, a Wednesday cosplayer is killing the competition. Based on The Addams FamilyThe Netflix show follows Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday as she attends a boarding school full of misfits. The show became a huge hit for Netflix after its premiere in 2022 and Wednesday was renewed for season 2. As the wait for the next season continues, the original episodes are best remembered for Ortega’s incredible dance scene, which has become a prominent meme online.

The cosplayer is dressed as Wednesday Addams and is doing amazing moves while maintaining Wednesday’s stern demeanor. This version of the character has evidently been dancing for a long time, as she’s been captured alongside Deadpool, Robin, Spider-Man, and several other cosplay characters.

It would be easy to look at Wednesday Addams as a typical goth schoolgirl with little regard for anyone around her. She often feigns lack of consideration for her colleagues, enjoys insulting them, and refuses to accept their presence as anything other than an annoyance. Despite that, the dance proved that she is still willing to occasionally act like the other students. Turns out she does it her own way. She moved with jerky, disorganized movements that somehow communicated everything Ortega was trying to convey.
While others danced with typical movements, Wednesday has its own styleand that’s exactly what sets it apart. She does everything her way. She cares about others but hates showing it off, dances without regard for decorum, and torments the adults at her boarding school. All the while, she acts with a style that no one else can imitate. She is a perfect example of the Addams family, and her dancing summed it up perfectly. So while the wait continues for Wednesday In Season 2, it’s natural for its cosplayers to spend their time dancing.
