We Know Where Star Wars' Treasure Planet Really Is (and This Has Huge Implications for the Skeleton Crew and the Mandoverse)

Notice! This article contains SPOILERS for episode 6 of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. The young heroes of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew spent the show's first season trying to find their way home, and Attin's exact location was finally revealed. Thanks to the dedicated Star Wars fans analyzing every detail, we have more information about the “Jewel of the Old Republic” and how it connects to the franchise's tradition. This offers several clues as to how Star Wars can explore the Old Republic era in the canon.

However, Attin's location also creates more immediate connections with Star Wars movies and TV shows. While it was always clear that the various Mandoverse shows would crossover at some point, probably in one of the next Star Wars films, there is now a clear path to Skeleton Crew characters to participate in the story. Attin herself may prove crucial now that new details of her story have emerged.

Star Wars fans have discovered Attin's galactic coordinates

Never underestimate a fan experience

Just before Skeleton Crew episode 6 was released on Disney+, the Star Wars fan page drunk (i.e.) posted a threat highlighting hidden details of the program. Coordinates translated to Attin reveal that the treasure planet is located in the Quelli Sectorwhich is close to worlds like Dathomir and Cathar. Dathomir is the home of the Nightsister witches and has been featured in animation Star Wars TV programs.

The Cathars, in turn, are linked to the Old Republic era in the original Star Wars Expanded Universe, now known as “Legends”. Two notable Old Republic Jedi were Cathars: Sylvar from the comic series Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi and Juhani from the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. These are fitting connections, as Attin is the last mint of the Old Republic and Wim grew up hearing stories about Jedi Knights.

Another notable planet near Attin's coordinates is Taris, a world destroyed by the Sith in Knights of the Old Republic. Like Attin, Taris was a rich and prosperous planet until it was destroyed, as were the other Gems of the Old Republic. Maybe Taris and Attin have a common historysomething that could be explored in the future Star Wars projects.

Attin's location links him directly to the Mandoverse

It's in the perfect location to get into each show's territory

Skeleton Crew is set at the same time as The Mandalorian and its consequencesmaking Mandoverse connections more suitable. Cathar was one of the worlds devastated during the Mandalorian Wars in the Old Republic era, giving the region a historical connection to the Mandalorians. Na Attin is not far from Mandalore, generating several opportunities for Skeleton Crew characters to appear in another Mandoverse project.

The children's adventures may even take them to Mandalore itself, where Mandalorians are known to be sympathetic to lost children.

The pirate Vane de The Mandalorian the 3rd season has already appeared in Skeleton Crewproviding a link between Din Djarin and the Skeleton Crew cast. Din Djain also agreed to work with the New Republic and X-wings have appeared a few times at important moments in Skeleton Crew. The children's adventures may even take them to Mandalore itself, where Mandalorians are known to be sympathetic to lost children.

Was Attin responsible for the economic power of the Empire?

It's a planet with an unlimited supply of credits

One of the darkest and most relevant connections established by Attin's location could be the Imperial Remnant. Despite being exiled to the Outer Rim and operating in secret, the Imperial Remnant somehow remained relatively well funded for research, military operations and a well-run spy network. The Mandalorian Season 3 also revealed that Moff Gideon's base was on Mandalore the whole time.

The people of Attin spoke of their “Great Work”, which must refer to obtaining new credits, but who are they doing them for? The Old Republic is over and the New Republic has no idea about Attin, so perhaps the planet is the Empire's secret source of wealth. This would be a shocking revelation that considerably raises the stakes for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew and makes your plot relevant to several upcoming Star Wars projects.
