Our take on Watson

Moriarty would make Watson much more interesting

Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Andrew Scott as Moriarty on a roof in Sherlock.

Will Moriarty be the antagonist in Watson? Since CBS’ new procedural is separate from other Sherlock Holmes entries, the answer is currently unknown. There are many mysteries surrounding the upcoming show, with one being that it is set six months after Sherlock Holmes’ death. Where Watson is during his grief cycle would be something interesting for audiences to see, and how he approaches his partner’s death would bring the theme back to Moriarty. Will the professor make an appearance in Watson, Moriarty is already in the story, being the backdrop that sets the tone of Watson’s medical show.

Certainly, it would be interesting to see how Watson would fight against the iconic villain as a medical investigator without Holmes. Moriarty, as a villain with the worst intentions towards Sherlock Holmes and his associates, is not likely to stop at Holmes. There are so many questions Watson needs to be answered, and Moriarty’s involvement in the story would certainly make things even more interesting.
