Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Superman & Lois season 4, episode 5.Superman and Lois season 4 may have dropped another major character in its final episode. With news that Tyler Hoechlin’s Man of Steel is back to life spreading at the end of episode 4, Superman and LoisThe last season presented more of the hero and the Clark Kent side of the character in its most recent episode. The Kent family continues to be the main focus of the DC series, as has always been the case, but Superman and Lois The Season 4 cast clearly suffers from the show’s reduced budget.
Characters like Lana, Kyle, John Henry and others are again nowhere in Superman and Lois season 4, episode 5. However, the show finally uses Lex Luthor’s daughter and explores the potential that the character has. After all, the path of revenge that Michael Cudlitz’s Lex is on was caused by him being sent to prison by Superman and Lois for a crime he didn’t commit, losing 17 years with his daughter. The conversation Lex has with his daughter is the focus of the episode and gives the Kent family time to turn the tide elsewhere.
The Doomsday Ending Of Superman & Lois Season 4 Episode 5 Could Get Rid Of The Villain For Good
The DC series took a huge turn
The Kent family tries to get Lex Luthor to stop looking for them in several different ways throughout the episode. First, Superman tries to talk to Luthor. This went about as well as one would expect, with Lois Lane later finding out where Luthor’s daughter Elizabeth was and convincing her to talk to her father and get him to leave the Kents alone. Although this didn’t work out in his favor either, Lex stayed busy long enough for Lois to try her most dangerous plan. – the one that finally worked.
The most interesting aspect Superman and Lois‘ version of Doomsday is that the character is a modified Bizarro. Lois manages to talk to that part of Doomsday, making him remember his life before he was turned into Luthor’s monster. After that, The Last Judgment flies to the sky. Lex Luthor arrives where he was holding Doomsday to realize that the Kents tricked him and that the beast is nowhere to be found. Superman and Lois Season 4 may have just abandoned another major character, leaving Lex Luthor having to get creative to get his revenge in the second half of the season.
Superman & Lois’ Doomsday Arc Suggests Episode 5 Isn’t Its End
The paths of Superman and Doomsday must cross again
Superman and Lois Season 4, Episode 5 ends in a way that makes it seem like Judgment Day is over for good. However, it would make little sense for the character to leave now and never return. The Doomsday escape is most likely a reason for the show to eliminate the immediate danger Clark and the Kents were in, as they were unable to defeat the villain in any conceivable way. Now, Superman can slowly regain his powers and then fight the monster when Luthor manages to control him again or train his children to do so.
The Doomsday arc is unlikely to end with the monster, so walking away easily after a brief conversation with Lois. Of course, the moment was charged with emotion. This would explain why Doomsday decided to leave the Kents alone for now. However, with Lex Luthor overcome by his desire for revenge after having ruined his only chance to rebuild his relationship with his daughter, it’s hard to imagine that Lex won’t find a way to locate the creature. After being killed by Doomsday, Superman also needs to show that he overcame this by beating the character.
Superman & Lois Season 4’s comic inspiration means a Doomsday return seems imminent
The Show’s Doomsday Version Could Return in a Different Way
Superman and Lois made some major changes to DC Comics’ “The Death of Superman” when adapting the iconic event. In the comics, Superman and Doomsday kill each other at the end of their massive fight. The DC series has already changed this, as Clark Kent was the only one to die in the series. This makes Doomsday’s role in the rest of the season unpredictable, as there is no clear direction as to what he should do. However, the comic book event included other characters missing from the series, and Doomsday could take someone’s place in the story.

Judgment Day could return as a villain or an ally in Superman and Lois final episodes of season 4. In the comics, Mongul and Cyborg Superman are the villains when the Man of Steel comes back to life. Doomsday, once again under Lex’s influence, and Luthor in his classic armored suit could fight Superman, his sons, Steel, and more. Doomsday could also take on the Eradicator’s role as Clark’s ally in the final fight against Luthor and perhaps the teased villain Brainiac. This could lead to Doomsday’s death and somehow be used to restore all of Clark’s powers as Superman and Lois ends.
