Roger finds a familiar face in Outlander season 7, episode 9, although she doesn’t seem to recognize him. Geillis Duncan’s appearance was a significant surprise in OutlanderA mid-season premiere since it had a bloody ending in season three. Of course, when time travel is involved, anything is possible, and this mischievous character has officially returned to the story. It’s unclear how much Geillis will help or hinder Roger’s journey, but if she recognizes a fellow time traveler in Outlander Season 7, it could be a problem.
Outlander Season 7, episode 9 sees Roger MacKenzie traverse the rocks of Craigh na Dun in search of his son, Jemmy, who has been kidnapped by Rob Cameron. He hoped to land in the 1770s, as this is the point the stones typically associate with their time in the 20th century. However, when Roger went to Lallybroch and met Brian Fraser, Jamie’s father, he realized it was over around the year 1739. Geillis’s appearance only added to poor Roger’s shock. and surprise—but shouldn’t she have recognized him?
Geillis met Roger before time traveling in Outlander
Roger and Geillis met in 1968
Roger recognized Geillis because he and Brianna had met the woman in 1968, shortly before she traveled through the rocks of Craigh na Dun. However, when Geillis answers the door for Roger at the end of Outlander Season 7 Episode 9 She Shows No Signs of Knowing He’s a Time Traveler like herself. It’s difficult to say precisely how she would react if he did Recognize Roger from the 1960s – she’s a dangerous woman who thinks human sacrifice is necessary to travel through time. Fortunately for Roger, this doesn’t seem to be a problem (yet).
It is certainly It’s possible that Geillis didn’t spend enough time with Roger to commit him to memory.. After all, she was busy planning her husband’s murder and an adventure through time when she met Roger and Brianna in the 1960s. If Roger reminds her who he is Outlander Season 7, Episode 10, she can remember their meeting (she remembered meeting Brianna when she talked to Claire about it in Season 3). For now, though, there may not be enough context for Geillis to figure this out, and Roger probably isn’t dumb enough to help her in that regard.
Could Geillis be a problem in Outlander Season 7?
Geillis is often a troublemaker
Claire once considered Geillis a friend, and it’s true that the woman saved her life. Outlander protagonist’s life. However, Geillis is more easily categorized as a villain than a heroine. Its main objective is to help the Jacobite cause, and she will eliminate friends and enemies to make this happen. In Outlander In season three, Claire had no choice but to kill Geillis when she tried to jump through time to kill Brianna. So it’s entirely possible that Geillis is pulling some nefarious strings in 1939 that Roger could easily get involved in.
THE Outlander the books dictate that Roger’s story will go in a different direction, and season 7 appears to be so far following the general course of author Diana Gabaldon’s work.
It could be that Geillis is just pretending not to recognize Roger – she could even be responsible for Jemmy’s kidnapping, as the boy brought back to her time may not be a coincidence. Still, that seems less likely. THE Outlander the books dictate that Roger’s story will go in a different direction, and season 7 appears to be so far following the general course of author Diana Gabaldon’s work. More likely than not, Roger’s time with Geillis will not worsen his circumstances– as long as he keeps their history (and future) to himself.
