Wait, this [SPOILER] Is Agatha really dead all the time?!

Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Episode 5, “Agatha All Together.”

IN Agatha all togetherMarketing, Rio Vidal of Audrey Plaza says:the bodies are really piling up“, and the last episode of Marvel’s WandaVision The spin-off actually delivers on that ominous promise. Not only does another member of Agatha’s Coven die on the dangerous Witch Road (at Agatha’s hand, no less), but the episode seems to end with Teen Joe Locke thinning the herd even further.

After revealing Tina’s true identity, the fact that Death is already behind Agatha all together could very well be overlooked. We’ve already seen the sad demise of Mrs. Hart/Sharon Davis (Debra Jo Rupp), and with the Salem Seven pursuing the Coven, it doesn’t seem like more bodies are too far away.

Explained the cliffhanger of episode 5 “Agatha All the Time”

Agatha drowns in the swamp in episode 5

IN Agatha all together In the final scenes of episode five, Tin is revealed to be Scarlet Witch’s son, Wiccan, somehow revived after Wanda magically destroyed him at the end of the episode. WandaVision. Disgusted by Agatha for killing Alice Wu-Gulliver (Ali Ahn) – albeit accidentally – the Teen reveals his powers after Agatha tells him that he “just like [his] mother“, the mind controls Jennifer Kale and Lilia Caldera and forces them to throw Agatha into a quicksand-like quagmire on the side of the Witches’ Road.

It’s already been established that this swamp is deadly, as it nearly killed Mrs. Hart in episode two, along with a firm warning to never, ever leave the Road. The sinking of Agatha, followed by Jennifer and Lilia, was to be a grim end for them all. What happens in the fifth episode of the nine-episode season is both shocking and hints that all is not as it seems.

They’re not dead, but Alice is dead

Agatha All the Time Wizard of Oz Episode

Agatha all together has hinted that Death will be a constant presence throughout the season – not least because Rio Vidal is definitely one – but for now it seems premature to call the time of death of Agatha, Lilia and Jennifer. Alice, on the other hand, is truly dead. Just like Agatha killed her mother’s clan in Salem in WandaVisionIn flashbacks, she strips Alice of both her powers and life force in a shocking twist that isn’t entirely her fault.

Alice’s attempt to save Agatha only to see it backfire and lead to her death provides a short and sharp lesson in never caring about anyone but yourself, which seems to be the creed of witches in the MCU. Like Sharon, Alice is now dead, and she may not be the last to go: it wouldn’t be surprising if Agatha all together kills the entire clan except Agatha, Tina and Rio.

The good news is that we’ve already seen footage of Agatha after the end of episode 5 (e.g. The Wizard of Oz inspired episode filmed above) so she’s not dead yet. Notably, one character is also missing from Tin’s attack on the other clan members.

Rio apparently remained with Alice’s body during the trial while Tin revealed his true identity and powers. It seems inevitable that she’ll have to save her fellow witches in the next episode. Agatha all together. Perhaps we’ll also see her true identity revealed…?
