Pat Casey: Yes, once we get out of this morning's interviews we'll be back in the salt mines of Violent Night 2, but I think it's going to be a lot of fun. I wish we had a date to announce, but we don't yet. But everyone really wants this to happen, so we hope we have more solid information soon. But it's a little difficult to schedule around David Harbor these days because he's a busy man with a few other giant mega franchises that unfortunately seem to take scheduling priority over us for some inexplicable reason.
What Casey and Miller's Statement Means for Violent Night 2
Production on the sequel is still going strong
Violent night ended with Santa Claus finding renewed joy in his gift-delivering job, having defended Trudy (Leah Brady) and her family from Scrooge (John Leguizamo) and his men. The sequel will likely see Harbor reprise his rolewith original director Tommy Wirkola saying that Mrs. Claus and the elves could be factors in the story. While nothing concrete is known about the direction of the sequel, statements from Casey and Miller indicate that a fun sequel is in the works, reflecting the same action and comedy found in the original.
The cast of Violent night It could also change beyond its leadership, as it seems unlikely that the Lightstone family will be targeted again. Instead of, whatever threat Santa faces next will likely be entirely uniquehelping to differentiate the sequel from its predecessor. However, no matter what threat he ends up facing, he will continue to indulge in the same high-octane violence as other 87North Productions films, optimizing his action scenes to reflect typical expectations of films made by the studio.
Our Take on Casey and Miller's Rough Night 2 Update
The film may be nearing the end of production
While the draft script isn't yet complete, Case and Miller's hard work on the film's script means there could be extensive development in the coming months. Although it is not clear whether Violent Night 2 will arrive during the holiday season in 2025 or 2026, the writers are clearly in love with the direction the story is taking. Since this bodes well for the sequel, it probably won't be long before more concrete information arrives for the Christmas follow-up.
