Venom #36, "Old Man Dylan" uses a sonic cannon against an encroaching symbiote.

Cable is a dark and brooding man who rarely has time for anything other than completing his mission, and it seems old man Dylan is much the same.

The history of cable is complicated, to put it mildly. He is the child of Cyclops and Madeline Prior, and ends up sent into a dark future where Apocalypse rules the world. Cable grew up in this miserable future and saw first hand what would happen if mutants and humans never learned to get along. finally, Cable would end up traveling back to the present and doing everything he could to prevent the dark future he was in. Seems old man Dylan is much the same.

Readers haven’t seen much of Old Man Dylan or his future yet, but some things are certain. The future the old man Dylan comes from is terrible, With the majority of the world destroyed by the symbiote-machine hybrids. The situation seems so hopeless that Sending Dylan back in time is their last option, as evidenced by the fact that every friend of Dylan’s is brutally murdered by the symbiote machines when they try to buy him enough time to escape. They only did this because they realized that if Dylan fixed the timeline, none of this would come to pass, which means that they really gave up on saving their time on their own.

Marvel’s Poison Storylines seem to be getting more and more surprising, not to mention ambitious… and Dylan Brock’s new role is a further continuation of that.

Like the brutal poison war Rising, with dozens of symbiote-related characters each with their own desired outcome, Old Man Dylan may be the only one who will be able to save both his father and the future. One thing is certain, both past and future versions of Dylan Will do whatever it takes to prevent Eddie Brock from becoming Poison Again.
