With the release of a major update for Xbox Cloud Gaming, fifty games will be available to stream on the service, including Cyberpunk 2077. Originally released in 2020, CyberpunkThe troubled launch of was likely redeemed by several years of support from developer CD Projekt RED, including several major overhauls of the game’s systems, the addition of new content, and the release of the critically acclaimed Phantom Freedom DLC. Although the game’s updates have largely ended as CDPR prepares for a sequel, the full version is still coming to new platforms.
As announced by @CyberpunkGame on X, Cyberpunk 2077 is one of fifty titles that can now be streamed on Xbox Cloud Gaming outside of the Xbox Game Pass catalog. Additions also include names like Baldur’s Gate 3, Balatroand The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
For those who have Cyberpunk 2077 or the Ultimate Edition on an Xbox platform and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, the game will be available to stream and play on any Xbox Cloud Gaming compatible device, including PCs, smartphones and tablets, among others.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available to stream with Xbox Cloud Gaming
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can play Cyberpunk 2077 through cloud gaming
While Cyberpunk 2077 is not available on Xbox Game Pass (and probably won’t be added to it in the future), Anyone who owns the game on an Xbox platform can now stream it to an Xbox Cloud Gaming compatible device – assuming they are also subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, to which the cloud gaming service is exclusive. This will allow users to play Cyberpunk on a wider selection of devices, as long as there is a stable internet connection to stream the game.
There are some notable benefits to Cyberpunk 2077 when it comes to cloud gaming. It’s still one of the most graphically demanding games available, especially at higher settings, and cloud gaming can alleviate the hardware requirements needed to run it at higher settings while maintaining a good frame rate. Streaming the game through Xbox Cloud Gaming would likely provide better performance than trying to play directly on a device like the Steam Deck, for example.
Cloud Gaming offers more ways to play Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 can be played on more devices with cloud gaming, but there are some drawbacks
However, Cloud gaming still has some notable drawbacksmainly because it requires a stable internet connection. Although players could stream Cyberpunk for a tablet or smartphone, it wouldn’t be truly portable like a Steam Deck or Switch. Additionally, although performance does not depend on the hardware the player is using, it will depend on their Internet connection, so users with unstable Internet may experience lag or other performance issues while streaming the game.
For Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers who have CyberpunkThe option to stream it to a variety of devices is a nice upgrade, but it still has some notable limitations. As the Xbox Cloud Gaming service continues to receive updates, including the option to stream more games outside of the Game Pass catalog, the value the service offers will increase, but the addition of Cyberpunk 2077 is a good start.
