Two months later, Pokémon TCG Pocket still hasn't fixed its most disappointing feature

A feature in Pokémon TCG Pocket It hasn't been fixed yet, which would vastly improve the experience. After 2 months of the game being in the hands of coaches, the lackluster value of this feature raises the question of whether it is worth using. With the issue involving a major element that most players will face, players are hoping for a rethink of what to do with the results.

There are many features that Pokémon TCG Pocket gets it right, but there are still some additions that players want to see to improve the game. Trading is the big deal, and it's part of the joys of collectible card games in general. With TCG Pocket Being a newer game, it's not surprising that something like this was left out of the early stages. But since trading is a feature promised by the developers, it still might not solve everything that's frustrating about the game.

Pokémon TCG Pocket doesn't have a good system for duplicate cards

How duplicate cards are used in TCG Pocket is not worth it

It is inevitable that you will collect duplicate cards during the game TCG Pocketas with any trading card game. With all the duplicate cards accumulated by players from the various card packs Genetic Apexspecial promotional cards and the new Mythical Island defined, there must be a better way to use these duplicates. At the moment, Duplicate cards can be used to create Flair, which is a graphic effect you can apply to cards that appear in battles. There is currently no other use for duplicate cards as trading is not yet available.

Another thing required to create Flair for cards is Shinedustwhich is obtained in various ways during the game. You will accumulate Shinedust by obtaining duplicate cards, solo battle missions, achievements, purchasing cards they already have with Pack Points or in the store during limited time events.

Whoever is playing probably already has a good amount of Shinedust to spend, but depending on the number of duplicate cards available, it can be a little disappointing how Flair works. Trading duplicate cards for a cosmetic effect only seen in battle is disheartening.

Why Flair is so disappointing

Flair is very expensive and resource-intensive, with little return

All the effort that needs to be put into a small animation effect during battle is disappointing, to the point that there should be a different feature for using duplicate cards. The cost of Shinedust and duplicate cards required to trade for Flair is very expensive, especially for high rarity cards. Cards with lower rarity will require more copies of the card but less Shinedust, but cards with higher rarity will require much more Shinedust. It often feels like Flair is overly complicated and a waste of resources.

From then on it gets more and more expensive. If players redeem the cards and Shineddust needs it to obtain Flair, can only be applied to one copy. If someone wants more than one copy of that card to have Flair, they will have to pay the cost more than once for that card. There are also a variety of effects available for each card, and the cost of card copies and Shinedust is required to obtain each. They are also unlocked one at a time for most cards, making it a tedious task with too many elements overall.

Trading is a solution, but TCG Pocket needs more

There must be a new way to use duplicate cards in TCG Pocket

With the amount of duplicate cards players can and have accumulated over the game's availability, there needs to be a better way to use them. Introducing trading could be a great solution, while also offering an easier way for trainers to obtain cards they are missing from their collection or need for a new deck. However, it is not a complete solution to the duplication problem, as players will continue to collect more copies of existing cards throughout the game and as new sets are introduced in the future.

An alternative idea is that duplicate cards can be exchanged for Pack Pointsdeprioritizing the Flair feature. Depending on the rarity of the card, it may provide more pack points if the traded card has a higher rarity. With this way of spending duplicate cards, it would be easier to collect all of the rarest cards from each set. If this is put into practice, the rate of exchanging copies of cards for points may not be high, as developers may still want to keep super rare cards harder to obtain.

Overall, it would be worth it if the way players use their duplicate cards was reconsidered. The Flair feature in Pokémon TCG Pocket it's an expensive and time-consuming way to get a small animation only seen in battles. The implementation of the long-awaited trading feature could work to solve the duplication problem, allowing players to get the cards they want more easily. The game should also consider something new with the accumulation of duplicate cards as it is something every player will encounter while playing.
