A small-time crook discovers the Dark Knight’s true identity and looks to make the biggest score of his life. But Harvey Dent had good reason to keep the information quiet.
in Batman #150 By Denys Cowan and Jorge Jiménez, Teddy Critchley, one of Catwoman’s old trainees, seeks to cash in on the information about who Batman really is. Teddy has a contact who worked for some of Gotham’s most prominent villains who take Teddy to meet with their first potential buyer, Two-Face.
However, Two-Face reveals that he already knows who Batman is. Dent reveals the reason he hasn’t done anything with the information is because Two-Face knows that if the Caped Crusader’s identity is compromised, Batman would have no choice but to go ‘pure bat’Danger to everyone in Gotham.
Two-Face wants to keep Batman’s secret identity safe to protect everyone, even Bruce
Still dealing with being dragged across the multiverse and Insomnia’s invasion during Night terrorsBatman’s exhaustion got the better of him and he slept for eight weeks straight. During this time, Catwoman enacted a plan to train low-level henchmen so that they would become expert cat burglars like her. This plan brought about some positive changes in Gotham but caused major problems with Batman. However, after several confrontations, the dust of “Gotham War” settled and things returned to normal. But one criminal used his newfound burglary skills to break into a brownstone, Where he discovered Bruce Wayne’s Batman gear.
Aside from his past friendship with Bruce, Two-Face has always been one of Batman’s more pragmatic villains. If he had wanted to, Dent could have revealed Bruce’s identity years ago. But two-faced is, of course, someone who sees the value in duality. If he reveals that Batman and Bruce are one and the same, it goes against everything Dent stands for. Not to mention, Two-Face is almost certainly correct that Bruce would choose to go all-in on being Batman if his identity was compromised. It may be self-serving, but Two-Face made the best choice for himself and Batman.
Two-Face still cares about Batman on some level
He may be a villain, but Harvey Dent is still half of Two-Phase and that part of him seems to be the one looking out for Batman. Harvey sees a similar dynamic in Bruce and knows that his worlds need to be separate. If Bruce had nothing to stop him from being Batman, he would have no reason to stop the Bat-Family or make any attempts to hold back when dealing with the city’s villains. Two-faced is far from being Batman Friends at this stage, but Harvey is doing what little he can to ensure Batman and Bruce’s lives never touch.
