Two Blue Vortex just showed how it's solving one of Naruto's biggest problems

Warning: The following contains spoilers for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 17!!

The events of Boruto: Two Blue Vortexes Chapter 17 not only shows how different this sequel is from Naruto in a positive way, but also how this new installment is solving a major problem that has often drawn criticism for both series: the lack of representation of traditional ninja tactics. However, the last chapter of Boruto TBV proves that the series can still maintain the ninja aspect and take it a step further naruto.

Although naruto was never an accurate representation of real ninjas from feudal Japan, the series' shift in focus to chakra-based power, away from the use of weapons such as kunai and shuriken, generated divided opinions among fans, who stated that in an attempt to presenting the flaws of the ninja world and leveling the scale of conflicts and power of enemies, the original scenario of the series was lost, which worsened in Boruto with its focus on the Otsutsukis and karma. Yet, Boruto TBV brought back the most interesting characteristics of ninjas in his most recent storyline with the Divine Trees.

Shikamaru shows Boruto TBVThe manga is focusing on real ninja tactics, unlike Naruto

BorutoThe story is getting more intriguing with the latest chapter

With the retcon and introduction of the Otsutsukis at the end of naruto becoming the main villains in Borutomany fans claimed that the series went from battles between ninjas to fights against aliens, causing a clash of genres. However, Team 7's new stealth mission, following Shikamaru's strategy to trick the God Trees into Boruto TBV chapter #17, although flawed as it could still backfire if they made a mistake by betraying the creatures, showed something that was missing in the second half narutomanga from: real ninja tactics and use of information.

Due to Naruto's more honest and direct personality, he preferred to face enemies head-on, The need for real-time information has never been a necessity in history. However, Shikamaru studied the information he obtained from Kashin Koji along with the personalities of his enemies and assigned Konohamaru to analyze the situation and, once they found the Divine Trees, act on the information he obtained, betraying them if the circumstances so required. Furthermore, this strategy showcases the natural traits of several ninjas, from stealth to environmental awareness, improvisation, betrayal and gathering information about the enemy while trying to be as discreet as possible.

Furthermore, due to the evolution of the ninja world into Boruto with a more striking policy, the Divine Tree also represents a threat to the way Konoha is seen as a nation; this caused their fight to become a Cold War between two fronts, which shows why Shikamaru chose this approach and how he expects Konohamaru's team to do whatever is necessary to accomplish the mission. That creates a new layer of intrigue in Boruto as the plot evolved from just fighting strong enemies to focusing on trying to discover their real intentions.

While the ninja element is believed to be lost in Boruto Because of the tagline at the beginning of the story, “the age of the ninja is over”, Kishimoto and Ikemoto brought it back stronger than ever thanks to the introduction of Omnipotence and characters like Amado and Kashin Koji. Due to the mysterious nature of Amado and Koji, as it is not entirely clear whether they are untrustworthy, and how those who have not been affected by omnipotence, such as Sarada and Sumire, need to obtain information while deceiving Eida, it is a different and exciting take on naruto.

An example of how Boruto differentiated himself from his predecessor is how he did not become stronger by training his karma power, but by perfecting his own jutsu based on the use of tools, technique, and precision rather than raw power. This is also different from the type of training in the first part of the Borutoof the manga, which was focused on strength and endurance, and also How Boruto dominated Kawaki proves that skill and technique can overcome natural power.

However, this storyline is not only refreshing for the series, but shows how the authors may have highlighted the ninja elements before the fall of Konoha anticipated in the first chapter of the manga, which could lead to an even greater impact than seen in narutoenabling Boruto surpass its predecessor, which only time will tell.
