Finally… Zerta!

The prompt for the next issue is short and to the point, but the tease that Zerta-Trion will make its first full appearance could make it an important milestone for the Energon Universe. Solila is in search of Zerta in the last arc of Void Rivalsand it appears the Zertonian warrior has finally met the ancient Cybertronian.

Is Transformers' Zerta-Trion the next big bad in the Energon universe?

Transformers' new villain could completely rewrite lore

Zerta-Trion was first mentioned in Void Rivals #9, and subsequent issues revealed that she was a Cybertronian who left the Transformers' homeworld long ago. Solila suspects this is Zerta, the deity she and the other Zertonians worship. After being seriously injured in battle, Solila receives a vision from Zerta herself, who tasks the Zertonian warrior with traveling deep into the Sacred Ring to find the ancient deity in order to achieve something called “unit”Within the Sacred Ring itself. Looking at that word should get it immediately Transformers fans' attention, remembering one villain in particular: Unicron.

This could spell doom for the advancement of the Energon Universe.

Unicron himself has been teased a few times so far in the pages of Void Rivals. When Solila set out on her quest to find Zerta Void Rivals #12, she touched the “energon carrier” crystal on her forehead with Darak's before they left. The question then shows a Huge silhouette deep within the heart of the Sacred Ring, whose glowing green eyes open menacingly. Considering that the Sacred Ring hovers near a black hole, and that Unicron is typically found near or inside black holes in classic Transformers lore, it's easy for fans to assume that the green-eyed silhouette is the big guy himself.

If the “unity” between the Agorrians and the Zertonians promised by Zerta means the awakening of Unicron, it could spell doom for the advancement of the Energon Universe. The mystery is even more intriguing given Zerta-Trion's name, which is reminiscent of Alpha-Trion. a classical Cybertronian figure seen more recently in the Transformers One animated film. In classical lore, Alpha-Trion was responsible for overthrowing the Quintessons and establishing Cybertron's independence. The Autobot Springer told Darak and Solila that the surname “Trion” denotes “great wisdom and authority” before stating that only two Cybertronians were given the name.

Will Zerta-Trion announce the coming of Unicron in Transformers Lore?

The Mysteries of the Sacred Ring Deepen Void Rivals

One way or another, Zerta-Trion left Cybertron centuries ago and was apparently involved in the creation of the Sacred Ring.. It is also possible that Zerta created the Agorrians and Zertonians from Cybertronian technology for some unknown purpose, adding more layers to the mystery of the world at the center of Void Rivals. Given the request and the main coverage for Void Rivals #18, it looks like Solila will achieve her goal and find Zerta at the center of the Sacred Ring, bringing the Energon Universe one step closer.”unit”And everything that entails.

Whether Unicron enters the fray or not, Void Rivals There are still many monumental stories to tell as the Energon Universe reaches its third year of publication in 2025. The arrival of the Autobot Hot Rod should give Darak and Solila another ally in their quest, but the coming of the Quintessons could also spell doom for the Sacred Ring. And there is also the imminent arrival of Cobra-La's army, which has sent a reconnaissance group to declare war on Cybertron's technological life forms.

The Energon Universe began with Jetfire's shocking appearance in Void Rivals #1, and the line has kept readers on their toes ever since with every twist and turn. Recent releases like Continuous Transformers and GI Joe received all the attention due to its incredible success, but fans shouldn't ignore the book that started it all, as the debut title still advances the story in intriguing ways. With the arrival of the youngest Transformers great evil in Zerta-Trion, Void Rivals remains another unmissable Energon Universe book.

Void Rivals #18 is available March 26, 2025 from Skybound Entertainment.
