Wonder 2024 has had a relatively quiet year, releasing only a few films and a few TV shows - although those installments have provided a number of excellent quotes for the franchise. Marvel's recent releases have had a number of successes, particularly in the MCU timelinewith Deadpool and Wolverine earning more than $1 billion at the box office, and Agatha all the time receiving a score of 83% from critics and audiences in Rotten tomatoes. Naturally, the public's connection with these films and programs depends on the dialogue found in the stories, highlighting the importance of good writing.
Marvel's 2025 slate is looking very strong, but it's worth remembering the big aspects of 2024. That's doubly true when we take into account the major endings and beginnings that emerged during that period, with Eddie Brock and Venom completing their trilogy, while Marvel Studios successfully continued the 1990s X-Men animated series with a new and already beloved reboot. Here are the ten best quotes from various Marvel films and television for 2024.

"For me, my X-Men!"
Cyclops in X-Men '97
For some reason, Cyclops doesn't seem to get the respect he deserves despite being the leader of the X-Men. This has all changed since the beginning of X-Men '97which saw Cyclops do truly incredible things with his powers. After the Blackbird is attacked, Cyclops has to use his optic beams to slow his descent to the ground. Upon landing, Cyclops calls out the rest of the team with the iconic quote: "For me, my X-Men!" It's one of the best moments in a series full of incredible moments.
Not only was the phrase a perfect love letter to the history of the X-Men, but it's also a fantastic way to signal that the X-Men are back and, hopefully, better than ever. X-Men '97 was a continuation of the 90s classic, X-Men: The Animated Seriesand the new show goes off with a bang from the start, with Ciclope leading the way.

"They're going to make him do this until he's 90."
Deadpool in Deadpool and Wolverine
Hugh Jackman has played Wolverine for over two decades and effectively ended his run as the character in 2017 with Logan acting as the final farewell. Plans changed and Jackman returned to play Wolverine once again opposite Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool and Wolverine. Hugh Jackman was 56 years old when Deadpool and Wolverine came out, with the film joking about his time away from the role and his return to it throughout its story.
A golden opportunity to highlight how long Hugh Jackman has been playing Wolverine, as well as showing how difficult it is for Marvel to move forward.
The meta nature of Deadpool as a character created a golden opportunity to highlight how long Hugh Jackman has been playing Wolverine, as well as showing how difficult it is for Marvel to move forward with their version of him. With all this in mind, Deadpool teases that Marvel Studios is "I'm going to make him do this until he's 90." It's a great joke that could age well if Hugh Jackman decides to return in another project, possibly Avengers: Secret Wars.

"I loved being a witch."
Lili Calderu in Agatha all the time
Just before Lilia sacrifices herself to defeat the Salem Seven so that Agatha, Billy, and Jennifer can continue on the Witch Road, she tells Jennifer that she "I loved being a witch." His impending sacrifice is not only a heartbreaking revelation, It is also a powerful moment of self-acceptance. Witches are the beating heart of Agatha all the timeand Lilia reminds the audience of this at the very end.
Without Lilia's sacrifice, it's possible that the rest of the coven wouldn't have been able to complete the Witches' Road - but more than that, it shows their willingness to accept their fate. Lilia has the power of divination and could see how her story would end. She embraced this as she tried to help the other clan members continue their journey.

"I'm done with this multiverse shit!"
Venom in Venom: The Last Dance
Venom: Let There Be Carnage ended with Eddie and Venom being transported to the MCU, but were quickly brought back to their own universe at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. In truth, Venom: The Last Dance begins with Eddie and Venom still in the MCU, only to be brought back to their current universe, a short-lived stint in the multiverse. When they are brought back, Venom exclaims: “I’m done with this multiverse shit!”
Of course, this is just a silly joke, but it could also speak to the wider audience about the current landscape of comics. In some respects, the multiverse permeated the narrative of superhero films with a few years left with him as the focus, at least for the MCU. What was once considered something that could make anything possible is now viewed with a slightly less boundless optimism, making Venom's quote a reflection of the changing attitude toward story convention.

"I'm trying to be better, don't make me disappoint you."
Magneto in X-Men '97
X-Men '97 takes Magneto in a number of interesting directions during the first season, but it was a moment in episode 2 that showed just how amazing he really is. After being attacked by X-Cutioner at his trial, Magneto uses his power to lift the judges and X-Cutioner high into Earth's atmosphere, hiding the tears in his eyes as he shows everyone what he is capable of. Yet, he doesn't kill them, trying to live up to Xavier's ideals. Instead, he gives them a warning saying: “I’m trying to be better, don’t make me disappoint you.”
This isn't just one of the best lines ever X-Men '97it's also a great play on words, as Magneto has the power to let them fall to their deaths if he so chooses in this scene. They are at his mercy in that moment and he understands that. Even so, he chooses to be better, which marks a key moment for his character.

"You were always the wrong guy."
Laura in Deadpool and Wolverine
Logan's relationship with Laura was the beating heart of Loganand it was heartbreaking to see father and daughter separate after her death. This gave Jackman's character another purpose in his life and he died protecting those he cared about. With the Fox X-Men franchise in limbo for the past few years, it was unclear whether Laura would return in a film. Happily, Deadpool and Wolverine managed to bring her back into the fold.
This is a different Wolverine than the one Laura knew, but it's clear that much of both characters are similar to her. Before the climactic battle with Cassandra Nova in the Void, Laura and Logan sit down to talk and he expresses his anxiety. The conversation ends with Laura telling him: "You were always the wrong guy." This has often been true for Logan over the yearsbut Laura understands that he still did what he had to do, no matter what he thought of himself.

"Am I William or am I Billy?"
Wiccan on Agatha all the time
Although Agatha Harkness is the main focus Agatha all the timeit's Billy Maximoff's return to the MCU that really drives the plot forward throughout the series. During the series, it is explained that Billy's soul inhabited William Kaplan's body once he died, which allowed him to return to life, this time in William's body. This idea is a driving force for Billy from beginning to end.
"Am I William or am I Billy?" he asks Lilia during the Tarot card trial. When Billy inhabited William's soul, he also took on his memories and essentially became him. This idea that he is at odds with who he really is, having to balance two different lives, comes to the fore when he asks this question. He just wants to better understand who he is, and one of the reasons he follows the Witch's Road is to get answers.

"I thought we were going to be the lethal protector? We are. That's what it is."
Eddie and Venom in Venom: The Last Dance
THE Poison the trilogy had great success with Tom Hardy's chemistry as Eddie Brock and Venom. Audiences have seen these characters grow together, and sometimes apart, over the course of three films and at the end of Venom: The Last Dancethings start to get a little emotional. When Eddie and Venom begin to realize that this is probably the end, they don't want it to be. Eddie asks Venom, "I thought we were going to be the lethal protector?" Of course, Venom tries to reassure Eddie in response, saying "We are. It is what it is."
“Lethal Protector” is not only a callback to the title of Venom's first solo comic book, but this exchange encapsulates everything fans have come to love about these two characters. They really did their best despite being in incredibly challenging circumstances. It's an emotional moment that highlights just how good Tom Hardy can be in any role he plays.
2
"The Name Gambit, Mon Amis. Remember it."
Gambit in X-Men '97
Probably the greatest episode of X-Men '97 it was episode 5, "Remember It". Genosha features heavily in this episode, and the climax features one of the most emotional moments when Gambit attempts to eliminate a Sentinel attacking the island, sacrificing himself in the process. Before his sacrifice, Gambit utters the phrase: "The name is Gambit, mon amis. Remember him." This moment - and the episode itself - show how special X-Men '97 it was throughout his first season.
Gambit had an eventful 2024, being a highlight of X-Men '97 as well as Channing Tatum finally getting the chance to play the character in Deadpool and Wolverine. Gambit has always been one of the coolest X-Men, so it's nice to see him finally fall in love with two different focal takes on the character. The way the MCU introduced mutants in 2024 bodes well for when they officially appear in the main universe.

"For the first time in my life, I'm proud to wear this suit. It means I'm an X-Man. I am the X-Man."
Wolverine in Deadpool and Wolverine
Hugh Jackman has been a staple in the comic book genre since he first appeared as Wolverine in X-Men in 2000. He's played the character for over two decades, giving it his all in the process. His Logan was constantly at odds with his place alongside the X-Men and although his iconic version died in Logan, Hugh Jackman was able to play another incredibly broken variant of Wolverinethis time complete with comic book accurate costume. Near the end of Deadpool and WolverineLogan perfectly sums up everything that involves Jackman's character.
A flashback scene occurs when Deadpool and Wolverine are about to sacrifice themselves, and it's here that Hugh Jackman pays a heartfelt tribute to his character, his desires, and what it means to Logan to be an X-Man. It's everything fans could want from Jackman's character and it showed how much Wonder legend he truly is.
