Dragon Age: The Veil Guard is filled with difficult decisions that can affect the entire game, just like some of BioWare’s other RPGs. The fragile relationship system and the emphasis on individual choices Making or breaking the world around Rook gives many players a reason to pause. The consequences of the player’s actions were previously more involved in the Dragon Age franchise, as in previous games, your decisions in some cases carried over to the next game and affected the overall story from the beginning of the game.
There are many options in Dragon Age: The Veil Guard that encourage players to not only make decisions regarding romance or other interactions with companions, but also about saving cities and other people. The biggest attraction for Dragon Age: The Veil Guard It’s the attention to detail that these choices requirebecause sometimes a simple yes or no can destroy an initial relationship or an entire metropolis.

Tearing down the Statue: Snow or Harding
One of the first important choices players must make
In connection with choosing to support or go against Varric’s plan to have a heart-to-heart with Solas, players have the opportunity to have Harding or Neve help them with the major distraction to interrupt the ritual. This is one of the first important choices players make within Dragon Age: The Veil Guardgiving it special importance for subsequent decisions. By choosing any of the companions to join Rook, they help push the statues within the Ritual Site to stop Solas’ attempt to close the Veil.
The consequences of this choice lie more in the appearance of companions than in an extreme change in history, such as whoever the players choose will be permanently scarred for the rest of the play. In addition to the scar, both Neve and Harding will be forced to sit out the next mission due to injuries, depending on the player’s choice.

What to do with Mayor Julius
Can affect the relationships players have with their teammates
The fate of Mayor Julius becomes a point of contention in the game, as the leader of D’Meta’s Crossing is to blame for the destruction of the village and the deaths of two Veil Jumpers. Players have three options: Save Mayor Julius from the plague, let him suffer the consequences of his actions, or banish him if Rook is aligned with the Gray Wardens.
This choice does not affect the end of the game, but it can greatly affect the relationships players have with their companions.
This choice does not affect the end of the gamebut it can greatly affect the relationships players have with their teammates. For those who wish to romance Bellara or Harding, leaving him presents the best outcome and opens up an additional quest. Banning him, on the other hand, generates greater approval from Neve.

Fight the first director with words or fists
This may affect how the first warden appears in a later mission
The First Director presents a small problem to Rook and the companions, as the irrational NPC leads the party to consider finally reasoning with him with words or fists. Players have two options here – knock out the First Director or try talking to him again. This choice becomes available after reaching the War Room in the main quest “Siege of Weisshaupt”.
While violence is not always the best option, punching the First Warden greatly increases Rook’s relationships with five of the romantic characters, rather than only benefiting two and losing affection with others by choosing to reason with the Warden. This choice also determines whether the First Warden ends up appearing sane or deranged in a later mission.
7
Leading the Distraction: Harding or Darvin
Players choose to let Harding or Davrin lead the group
One of the most important choices for Dragon Age: The Veil Guard comes after Rook and his party tracked down one of the elven gods, Ghilan’nain. In the mission “Island of the Gods”, players choose to let Harding or Davrin lead the group this distracts the Ghilan’nain forces while the rest of the group confronts them head on.
Unfortunately, this particular choice brings back BioWare’s tendency to make players choose which of their favorite characters to sacrifice after a noble fight. Despite what players might expect, any character Rook chooses to lead the distraction will die.
Harding and Davrin were successful in their mission to give Rook and the others time to confront the godbut depending on who the players choose, they will end up not surviving the attack. Whoever dies will, of course, be unavailable for the rest of the game and can’t be a boyfriend, so keep that fact in mind if Harding has a place in Rook’s heart.
6
Harding honoring Rage of the Titan
This choice occurs in the mission “Heart Of The Titan”
In Harding’s final mission, Rook chooses whether Harding embraces the Titans’ rage or remembers who she is. This choice occurs within the “Heart of the Titan” mission, and while it doesn’t affect the game’s ending, it does provide some beneficial rewards depending on the path Rook encourages Harding to take. Harding has an incredible quest line, allowing players to see the kind of person she is and what the future of the dwarves will look like with their contributions.
While this choice doesn’t affect the game’s ending or any relationships, players receive a set of legendary armor and a Veilguard ability for Harding, depending on whether they embrace anger or help her overcome it. The Inquisition Spotter legendary armor set may be more useful than the Titan’s Vengeance armor set, which is better for builds that focus on Bleed.
5
Lich Emmrich or Return of Manfred
None of the choices directly affect the end of the game
As one of the most interesting side quests, Rook has the option of encouraging Emmrich to explore becoming a lich or resurrecting Manfred.a useful skeleton within Blackthorne Manor. This choice is available at the end of Emmrich’s companion quest, “The Sacrifice of Souls,” but neither option directly affects the game’s ending.
This long quest has Rook and Emmrich going around the mansion helping Manfred until they fight Hezenkoss, a giant, bony lich. Emmrich has the option to revive Manfred or become a lich and honor Manfred by keeping his memory alive.
Depending on the party’s choice, they will receive the legendary Lich’s Vestige armor and the Death’s Caress ability or the Graven Vestments armor set and the Life’s Embrace ability. Lich’s Vestige and Death’s Caress rewards are more direct in their utility in combat, so players must consider each damage dealt before deciding to employ a lich.
4
Removing protections: Neve or Bellara
A chance to choose who will do the dirty work
Unlike the previous part of “Island of the Gods” decisions that affect the end of each playthrough, removing protections during the mission gives players the chance to send Neve or Bellara to take care of the dirty work. This choice requires more strategic planning, as whoever is sent will not be available for the next mission. Although any companion can be sent, it is recommended to send those with magical experience.
This decision ended up makes one of two magic-focused companions available during the “Last Gambit” missiondemanding some strategy to ensure the party has all bases covered. Between Neve and Bellara, whoever Rook chooses will disapprove, so consider the status of each relationship.
3
Becoming the New Archon: Maevaris or Dorian
Guiding the Future
Like some of the previous Dragon Age franchise entries, The Veil Guard allows players to choose who will become the new Archon. The decision depends on whether the player chooses to save Minrathous or Treviso, but it’s an easily missed choice if players haven’t set it up. There is an illusion of choice that can be found before this, but which is lost concomitantly with the choices that are present later in Lucanis.
This choice changes the final slides that can be found after the game’s final cutscenes and is purely based on who the player thinks would be best suited for the position of Archon. It is one of the most interesting choices that can be made, as it directly imitates previous installations of the Dragon Age franchise.
2
Fight, trick or save Solas
One of the biggest choices that can be made throughout the game
Solas’ ending leads to the Veil despite Rook’s attempts to save him, but the three choices Rook is given at this stage directly influence the game’s ending. As one of the biggest choices that can be made during Dragon Age: The Veil Guard, Solas’ fate is in Rook’s hands.
Only two options will be available to players under normal circumstances, but if they collected the Mythal Essence at some point in the game, a third option appears during the “Dread Wolf Rises” missions after defeating the final boss. Although Solas is bound to the Veil anyway, players have the chance to fight him directly, trick him with a fake lyrium dagger, or offer the Essence of the Mythal to save him.
The group lives through all three of these scenarios unless an alternate ending is triggered who sacrifices all companions and the Tower. If players transfer their choices from Dragon Age: Inquisitionthere is an alternate ending where the Inquisitor joins Solas as he is pulled into the Veil, sharing an intimate moment before saying goodbye to Rook and the rest of the companions.
1
Save Minrathous or Treviso
The result of this choice directly impacts the end of the game
Perhaps the biggest decision to be made in Dragon Age: The Veil Guard, players have the option to save Minrathous or Treviso. The result of this choice directly impacts the end of the game, in addition to completely removing secondary mission options, decreasing the strength of the Faction and damaging relationships with companions.
The result of this choice directly impacts the end of the game, in addition to completely removing secondary mission options, decreasing the strength of the Faction and damaging relationships with companions.
This choice is available after completing “The Director’s Best Friend” and may take more than just a glance to decide. Any city that has to face the Plague without Rook’s help will become unavailablebut each also leads the player to unlock different missions and relationships with the Antivan Crows and the Shadow Dragons.
Players who choose Minrathous, the most advantageous choice, greatly improve their relationships with Neve and the Shadow Dragons, while also making it easier to obtain the best ending. On the other hand, if Treviso is saved, Lucanis and the Antivan Crows will be grateful, but it will be more difficult to achieve the best possible ending. Dragon Age: The Veil Guard.
