Thor's son has a drastically different story, as he comes from a universe where Thor turns into a tyrant; however, in his timeline, Magni was proven worthy of Mjölnir, making him worthy of Thor's power and a prime candidate as Thor's successor. Although Magni is not the God of Thunder, he is physically stronger than Thor as the God of Strengthand with his father's hammer, he would also have the powers of Thor, making him an even more powerful king than his father.

Magni's ascension to the throne evokes Thor (Vol. 2) #79 by Dan Jurgens and artist Scot Eaton, where Thor tells Magni that he would be the best king for Asgard. In his timeline, Magni is very similar to Thor; he's worthy of Thor's power and likes Earth, so it stands to reason that Magni would make a compelling heir, but the Enchantress openly notes that she wants to use Magni to act as “Queen Mother.” but she is undoubtedly using Magni to gain influence within Asgard, ensuring that her son receives All Power.

Magni is foreshadowed to take over the throne of Asgard from Thor as the god of strength

But his mother, a witch, complicates things

Thor's son Magni declares himself the God of Strength

Despite the Enchantress' blatant scheme, Thor is willing to give Mjölnir to his son, evidently accepting him as his successor and a genuine God of Asgard.. Magni's return is intriguing, but it begs the question of whether his return is actually a good reveal as it fulfills what the Enchantress wants. Despite his immortality, Thor's recent brush with death at the hands of B-tier villains has left him eager to pass on All Power to a competent heir should he die and Magni returning to existence fills that role.

Magni's inclusion is a major change to the status quo of the Asgardian pantheon, as he joins the ranks of Thor by taking the title of God of Strength.

As it has been suggested that Magni will wield Thor's most symbolic weapon, Thor's son will become a new staple for the Asgardian Pantheon as the God of Strength, possibly surpassing his father in feats of strength and power. While Thor seems hopeful about Magni's return, the Enchantress' goals are still largely uncertain, so there's likely a dark turn to this father-son reunion. Magni's inclusion is a major change to the status quo of the Asgardian pantheon, joining Thor's ranks and becoming Thorinner heir Wondermain continuity.
