This Karate Kid Remake Detail Opens the Door for a Surprising Mister Khan Twist in the 2025 Sequel

An interesting excerpt from the 2010 Jackie Chan remake. Karate Kid opens up a golden opportunity when he reprises the role of Mr. Khan in the 2025 sequel. Although Chan’s film was once a recreation of the original 1984 film.recent developments in franchising have resulted in the 2010 efforts being integrated into the main continuity. As a result, Mr. Khan will be able to interact directly with Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso in 2025. Karate Kid movie. In short, all five Karate Kid the films now share a universe, and the upcoming sequel will be a sixth film.

It is currently unclear to what extent Cobra Kai The cast of season six will be featured in the upcoming sequel, with the spin-off series also coming to an end in 2024. Details about the new addition to the franchise are currently scarce, but The return of Jackie Chan as Mr. Khan is one of the biggest and most unexpected revelations.. His role in the then remake is very reminiscent of the cult Karate Kid figure. However, by the time Karate Kid By the time the reboot comes out, Chan’s character archetype will have changed significantly.

Mr. Khan’s age in the Karate Kid remake makes him look more like Daniel LaRusso than Mr. Miyagi

Since both films take place so far apart from each other, it means that Mr. Khan and Daniel are surprisingly similar in age.

In the 2010s Karate KidJackie Chan’s Mr. Khan is a remake of Mr. Miyagi. His overall backstory and personality are not identical, but it is clear that Mr. Khan plays the same role in the film as Pat Morita played in his. Thus, it is easy to conclude that when Mr. Khan returns, he will continue to play the role of an older, wiser man when he comes into contact with Daniel LaRusso. Interesting, Chan is not much older than Macchio. in real life.

Although Morita was also the same age when he debuted as Mr. Miyagi in 1984, his first film was released about 25 years before Chan’s film.

Both actors are separated by less than 10 years. So Mr. Han now looks more like Daniel than Mr. Miyagi. Chan was only about fifty when he Karate Kid the film was released. Although Morita was also the same age when he debuted as Mr. Miyagi in 1984, his first film was released about 25 years before Chan’s film. So, if Pat Morita had not passed away in 2005, he would have been more than 20 years older than Chan in the 2025 film.

In this regard, it is quite possible that Mr. Han may have once been a student of Mr. Miyagi.. While Mr. Khan was only shown to have one student – Jaden Smith’s Dre Parker – it still teases a similar arc with Daniel when it comes to becoming a teacher after training under Pat Morita’s late character. The fact that Mr. Khan has moved into a teaching role and is the same age as Daniel makes the two characters incredibly similar.

It’s better to put Mr. Han in the role of Daniel than to try to replace Mr. Miyagi

Chan’s character is too young to replace Mr. Miyagi in the main Karate Kid universe.

Jackie Chan looks confused as Mr. Han in 2010's The Karate Kid.

Mr. Miyagi died between 1994. The next karateka and the first episode Cobra Kai in 2018. The franchise respectfully decided not to replace Morita’s character and instead allowed his legacy to permeate the spinoff show. Anyway, Daniel became the spiritual successor of his former sensei. when he began teaching students the art of Miyagi-do karate. Mr. Khan could probably be a great replacement for Mr. Miyagi in the upcoming film, but it would make more sense to cast him in a role more similar to Ralph Macchio’s character.

Having Mr. Khan replace Mr. Miyagi for so long after the remake wouldn’t make much sense since Daniel LaRusso is also part of the story. Both men have the same level of experience and skill, so trying to put one above the other in terms of seniority would be a little awkward – even if Macchio has long been the face of the franchise. If they were on equal footing, it would open the door to a much more interesting story than if Mr. Han played the role of Daniel’s new sensei.

Mr. Khan’s age makes it even more of a shame that he didn’t appear in Cobra Kai.

Chan would be a great addition to a Karate Kid spinoff show (and technically still could be one).

It’s easy to imagine Mr. Han as an older man, given his parallels to Mr. Miyagi and how much time has passed since his debut in the franchise. However, considering how close Chan is in age to Macchio, Mr Khan’s absence from Cobra Kai now seems like a huge waste of potential. There could be some great stories between these two men, especially if it were revealed that Mr. Khan also has a connection to Pat Mortita’s late character.

Connected

Certainly, it is still possible that Mr. Khan could return Cobra Kai Season 6. With the second part of the spin-off’s final season releasing in November 2024 and the third and final part releasing in 2025, there is still plenty of time for Chan to return. In particular, he could be connected to Mr. Miyagi’s mystery. On the other hand, Sekai Taikai is sure to be the main story of the last two batches of episodes. So there may simply not be enough time to return Jackie Chan’s character until 2025. Karate Kid movie.
