Jason Statham’s 2011 action film. Mechanic is a remake of the classic Charles Bronson film of the same name and is currently one of the most popular films on Netflix. Mechanic remains one of Jason Statham’s highest-rated films of his illustrious career and one of Statham’s most successful film franchises. The film follows Arthur Bishop (Statham), an elite hitman or “mechanic” who is the best in the business. After Bishop’s mentor Harry (Donald Sutherland) is killed, Bishop sets out on a mission with one army to avenge his death and make those responsible pay. The 1972 version unfolds as a slow-paced story that picks up momentum toward the end.while the 2011 remake begins in the thick of things with Statham’s Arthur Bishop committing murder. Editing is also faster, making it an edgier and more interesting product. Although Bronson’s Mechanic is a very slow film, the changes made to Statham’s version ultimately make the film more exciting. Original Mechanic was filmed on a budget of only $10 million, while Statham’s version was filmed on a budget of $42.5 million, resulting in improved action sequences and set pieces.
